I have just bought P50U30. I noticed at very extreme angle, around 170 degrees or so, there is seems to be double image. It's not obvious but can be seen if I really scrutinize at very close distance. Is this normal?

Guys, I just got a call from my wife that power socket made some noise when she tried to turn on the TV (P50U30K). Not the power switch on the TV yet, just the power socket on the wall. I'm currently in the office and will be back home around 9pm. I asked her to turn off the power socket for the mean time till I come home.
Now I'm abit worried, the TV is just 2 months old.
Anyone had similar experience? Is it because of unregulated electricity supply? Has anyone using AVR (automatic voltage regulator) for your tv? Yup, the one that we normally use for PC.

QUOTE(ktek @ Apr 15 2013, 03:18 PM) well, ur tv has become "TVB certified". me same case, baru power on the " SMART VIERRA" stay at least 10minit ++ i believe it use maximum contrast, not sure the purpose to warm up or just plain stupid.. ST50 model has pixel orbiter function which move the whole screen every few minits. i find by keep the color tone in yellowish (not pure white) will lessen the chance 10 minutes? Wow. Mine is about 3-4 seconds. You might want to get your tv checked. Btw guys, just to share. Here's my mother in law P50U30. A vertical line appeared and it's getting worse by day and becomes thicker. http://i.imgur.com/Rzf77xB.jpgPana technician came to check, the board was soaked with cat's urine. Apparently one of the house cat often slept at the back of the TV. Not covered by warranty though. Panel costs 3k to replace.

QUOTE(ktek @ Apr 16 2013, 12:40 PM) no point to repair at the costing of new unit p50ut50 sell around 2800 market price Yeah. She's going to buy a new TV. To repair something that already obsolete, for that kind of money, is indeed ridiculous.

QUOTE(john2010 @ Jun 1 2013, 02:58 PM) Hey guys, A seriously noob question. How do u guys play external .srt subtitles? For MP4, AVI and MKV movie formats. I have tried to google and try everything but still didn't work: 1) Change file title to the exact same as the movie title. 2) Press on almost all the buttons in the remote; under the blue, yellow green buttons. I dont see anything that allows the subs to b played. 3) Tried to change the subtitle file extension also cannot. Can the ST50 play external .srt subs? Or must I embed them to the vid. tq Can. No problem. There's a menu to turn on the subtitle. I give the same name for the .srt file and video file But, only thru USB. Not DLNA which is pretty much pity.
