can anybody suggest the best display setting for LCD 42" tv? (contrast ... brightness .. sharpness etc etc) ...

my lcd tv got black horizontal black line from middle of the screen to the bottom ... surely have to send back for warranty right? how long warranty process will take?

Hi...sorry if this has been asked before...
I just bought Viera TH-L42E5K....the first time when i got it i want to use the internet features...but it ask me to update the firmware first...so I update it lah... But after updating it....this screen (picture 1) will appear every time i switch ON the TV...and I have to exit from it to use the tv and this thing (picture 2) will stay appear on screen...how to remove both things?
