Hey Buddy,

Planning to get a TV for my parent, target on 42, 46 or 51 inch...should get plasma ? but my parent house do not have aircond in the living hall, and i heard plasma have unpleasant heat compare to others.

It is most for Astro watching and Please recommend me which model to go for? Should go for Full HD i guess? I don think advanced features required here...but Good picture quality will be preference here...

Thanks for your guidance!

It does, but not to the extend that required AC, I am running plasma on living room seldom switch on the AC, no problem at all. Maybe you want to buy 100" plasma? That could be some heat.

Nope, not really ....i think 50 or 42 inch will be good enough for my parent smile.gif

plasma do generate more heat compared to LED, but in a spacious area like living room, the generated heat is negligible, and you won't feel it at all
unless you're talking about a small confined room with no air circulation then it's a diff story

if it's mainly for Astro viewing, then a HD ready plasma is good enough, as plasma display the SD channels better than LED, and Astro's HD channels are only in either 720p or 1080i, so HD ready is good enough

Thanks a lot for the valuable input ....i think i will stick with Plasma then ....btw, Any comment on VIERA TH-P50X50K or 42k? I think Panasonic brand is more reliable then samsung ...well ...i guess smile.gif

Thanks KucuBoy, actually i don't need 3D, if i watch 2D movie, I can turn off the 3D and it won't impact on normal 2D movie right?

By the way, is it a need to have full HD plasma? can someone advise on this? just now i managed to see LG 60" plasma - forgotten which model, selling around 3599RM from AEON Big if recall correctly.

The Sales person keep mentioned LG still have dual layer to screen, not like pana or samsung...
