I am using U Mobile prepaid for my iPad. Not too bad.

Was using Digi Discovery Day but was not too happy with their speeds (generally just shy of 1Mbps, ping 200-300ms, though it feels especially slow when loading youtube videos) and the fact that it is nearly unusable from 7pm-7am (the "off-peak" hours)

For U Mobile, I am getting speeds of upto 4Mbps (DL) 1.5Mbps (UL), but most of the time, ping is quite bad. So far, the worst ping I have recorded is 5000+ ms O_o. Though usually its in the region of 1000ms +/- (still quite bad). But for normal browsing, watching youtube videos, feels faster than Digi.

It really depends on location, if you live at 3g or hsdpa then it worth it smile.gif but if you always travel then i'd say forget it..roaming is slow.

I am using one, so far no complaint, since it also ride on celcom network, coverage in KL is not a problem to me, never try outside of KL though.

It all depends on your area. Thats the thing about wireless. You will not get the same result as your fren in another area. Some one may get awesome speeds in PJ, while another will be fuming on LYN in Segambut or something like that. Test it out first before purchasing. smile.gif

I use Umobile(RM 68 for 5 gb package) in KL,PJ,Puchong so far the speed is consider good.Previously i changed from Digi Internet (RM 38 package) and the problem is after 7 pm Digi seems to be really slow almost useless. But then again,if you're a daytime user only,i would say Digi is still okay.

i m a broadband reseller for maxis, celcom and umobile

1st you may check your coverage here

http://u.com.my/broadband/coverage-locations

unfortunately east malaysia got no U3g coverage, but i got a lot of customers from melaka and pahang that using prepaid 28 to roam on celcom 2g edge just for whatsapp and talkbox lite using =.=

selayang is not bad but also not too good, klang is not fully covered but last month TOP SALES with over 1000 broadband dealer is from klang ...... why not me T_T

2nd, if you near 20 floors above, all broadband also slow for you

3rd, if your apartment or condo is surrounded by 3-4 other tall building, i m sure you get no signals always unless YTL YES, as they put the signal tower almost each of the building ....

so thats just depends on your demand on the services, YES always the best choice if affordable, maxis also considered expensive compare to digi celcom and umobile, digi is the cheapes plan so better don complain the coverage and speed ...

my conclusion =.= : UMOBILE IS GOOD at klang valley especially PJ and kl sentral, might reach 9-10mbps with galaxy S2 hdpa+ speed

I used U mobile for one month in december and I gave up.

The speeds are okay, much better and more stable than DiGi. I averaged around 1.5 Mbps in Sunway area. That is when you actually have a HSPA connection which you won't half the time. Sometimes just moving a few feet can cause your HSPA to drop and suddenly you're on Celcom's EDGE. And it takes a very long time to re-establish a connection back to U mobile.

My biggest gripe however is that there are a lot of strange black holes in the coverage. If you enter 10 feet into any shop in Pyramid you'll lose all connection to everything. Can't call out, can't receive, no internet, absolutely dead even though it shows 3 bars HSPA.

If you're using it as your home Internet then it should be fine. If you're putting it in your phone, please... Don't.

I'm a umobile user, coverage in segambut and Jalan Duta area is good, mostly 4G to be specific. What I've notice 4G coverage isn't as good when you're surrounded by high raise buildings.

With the new U mobile free extra roaming countries package, it seems like a good deal. Anyone still on U mobile network and can comment on the current network quality in PJ/KL ? How's the data coverage locally here? Thanks for your feedback.

Hi, is there anyone still facing big issue with umobile in year 2020? Just looked into their latest postpaid plan and found interesting offer. Wonder whether it worth a trial. My concern is,

1. Signal stability in KL
2. THeir 4G speed test result good?
3. Is signal good for those stay above 30 floor?

Appreciate any comment from exiting umobile owner ^^

i recommend u try prepaid plan first, with gx30 + turbo booster and speedtest it. If it's good then you can proceed to postpaid one
