Wow, v14, and I've only owned my Siie-Tan for what, 2-3 months?

And dang, that's a looooong userlist lol. Only 200++ more to 1k!

One question here, anyone here who rooted or flashed to other roms have any problem when send our phone for warranty? Rooting and flashing can void warranty right?
*
Uncle Benny? Somebody's asking for you!

Anyways, warranty IS technically void, but just flash any stock ROM and hope for the best. 90% of the time they don't notice/care pun.

As I've never been able to leave VR. Maybe I'll try CM later once it's more stable.

Aiyoo, anything fun happen this weekend? I was lost configuring a new member of my mobile stable:

user posted image

Annnd, my circle of "using stuff I dissed" is now complete, having gone through all the big 3 mobile OSes (all of which I had a marked distaste towards before this). Needless to say, family circumstances forced me to get one anyway.

And while BBOS is a joke even at ver 6 on my old second hand Torch, compared to iOS and Android, it's still WORLDS better then S^3 or Anna or whatever.

And that QWERTY is sublime. Hopefully a QNX phone with the Torch design, good specs and the "android emulator" would come BEFORE RIM goes bankrupt, as I REALLY like the device. It's the software that's not quite there yet.

Even then, now I know why they call it the CRACKberry. It's fun, even if it feels like a feature phone next to the SGS2 or the iPhone 4.

anyone in here using SGP glass screenshield? i watched the reviews on youtube but still want to hear what you guys think? suddenly i am very addicted with changing casings~~ lolz and now i want to change my sgs2 color to white. or is there any skin without buying the sgp glass?
*
I'm using Glas + Estoc + Nymph kernel = no issues thus far, except that the capacitive buttons become a tiny less sensitive (now it registers touch near the logo only - which is fine by me, it was TOO sensitive before IMHO).

Also, it's hard to apply as you only have one shot due to the fact that it's un-reusable.

Also, I've noticed that like a BB, the SGS2 is a tad picky when it comes to WIFI. I have ZERO problems thus far on my own networks, but it DOES have some issues on certain open wifi hotspots.

@Luffy: I have one white Glas spare, interested?

@all: Still bogged down by work to start with the estoc bulk. Gimme a few days, okay guys? I'll PM those interested when it's ready.

Good objective review of batteries for the SGS2. Incidentally, I have 2 of the 3800mah extended ones on that review out for grabs because I already have 2x Momax expower batteries and I'm too satisfied to even do a comparison.

PM me if anyone's interested as it's utterly useless for me now that I have 2x ori Samsungs, 2x Spiderfoot OEMs, 2x Spiderfoot Extendeds and 2x Momax expowers (can you say "overpowered"? Blame Momax for coming out with the expowers literally one day after I ordered the spider-foot extended).

I need to get rid of the OEMs too lol. Too many batteries now.

Estoc+ bulk thread up and running!

http://is.gd/LT1u0y

@nicregi: Well said. I'm a stalwart VR user as I like it as stock (well, stock Samsung anyway) as possible. All the other "improvements" I can add (or subtract) on my own thank you.

Buuut, to each their own.

I mean, I'm a born tinkerer who is planning to frigging format his PC just so he can load Hybrid firmwares into his frigging BB lol (registry's borked, can't install BB drivers).

VR is like Debian nix. Rock stable and generally boring. Avoid if you need excitement.

But, BECAUSE it's rock stable, it's a good starting point for your own mods and tweaks.

Nope! My setcpu now is 1500max 500min. I think i shud do i full wipe of my phone, see if some apps cud be causing the issues
But on stock kernel or cfroot kernel no such issues
*
Some kernels come with built in underVOLTING to save power, obviously your processor does NOT like that.

Proof is your system is OK under stock.

Adjust voltages UP manually with Setcpu, if that kernel supports it. If not, bye2 kernel.

Which kernels are you having problems with? I know Nymph and Ragemod are pre UVed. Siyah eh, not sure about that one.

Maybe your proc IS picky.

guys, did anyone of u using other charger to charge ur S2?

I using nokia N97's charger, with output of 1.2A, compared to original samsung 0.7A, but the charging duration still the same, roughly 3 hours for full charge, i assume it should be faster, around 2 hours will do, but is not...
*
Charging input is kernel controlled. Use Nymph kernel if you need to charge faster. I use the Nokia AC10X no problem, takes about 3 hours to charge but my battery is extended (2700mah) so no issue there.

@jasonkhoo87: He's talking about the Galaxy Note, the 5 inch PHONE. It's not even out yet. Galaxy tab is different.

You really think samsung can disable it kah. Official rom yes, but cook rom no way for samsung to disable. The file that disable it have been replaced.
*
Doesn't matter disabled or not except for getting rid of the yellow triangle. They still have ANOTHER backup flash counter you can do nothing about.

Bigger issue is the disabled USB APIs = no usb keyboards/mice or anything.

I'm using SmartKeyboardPro with MultiLing as backup.

Both are JP capable. 確かにそうよ。At least up to my crap jappo level anyway. SKP is better in Eng while MLK is better at almost everything else.

Then mod it on a HW level. With all my hideous extras (battery, glas, bumper case) people usually have no idea what I'm using lol.

Of course, my ex called my old iP4 the "Nokia" due to similar reasons lol.

Does anybody with data connection problems even bother to change modems? doh.gif

I'm on KH3 and have no connectivity problems. Also on HSDPA only mode, VR2.4.2 + Ninpo 2.0.5. Stable as a rock.

Instead of the white Galaxy S II, I think I'll be more in a rage for the Note.

Curious how the IPhone 5 will be any different seeing that they have announced there will be just 'minor changes' in GSMArena
*
Apple's minor changes: underclocked A5/A6+SGX whatever they put on the Ipad2 (also underclocked), 1GB RAM, notti tray stolen from Android, 4G (ehem, US definition of it, we just call it HSPA+), 8MP camera, slightly bigger batt and screen, iOS5, better cloud/sns intergration.

In other words, same old, same old +1. It's still gonna be a more coherent (read: completely Apple controlled) UX, and it's still gonna have crap battery life when jailbroken. And Apple WILL STILL call it "the Magical Device".

Not to say I'm not excited waiting for the launch, whatever you say about the evil phone, post JB the 4 WAS still quite a satisfying device. Really. In a closed up kinda way.

And rather then waiting for the huge ass Note (typing one handed is gonna be a horror on that thing), the SGS2HDLTE or Nexus/Droid/Galaxy Prime is more interesting IMHO.

Funny we're now actually seeing Apple play catch up though, at least on the HW side. Android HW development has been utterly unbelievable in these past few months.

Still, with the demise of WebOS and the Pre line, something inside me died a little, seeing that my favouritest mobile layout of them all (sliding portrait QWERTY touch phone) has been reduced to the Dell Venue Pro and BB's Torch series.

Sigh.

However much I HATE RIM, I'm quietly praying that QNX for phones (AND the Android emulation layer) actually happens and that they will one day stick it inside a Super Torch.

*strokes my Torch*

Before JB, battery life good. But after JB, battery life bad. Why do you say that?
*
iOS has good battery life simply because it DOES NOT HAVE REAL MULTITASKING. JB fixes that (especially with backgrounder) and certain apps like winterboard and SBsettings (and celeste and colorkeyboard and multiflow and activator and crunchSMS and attachmentSaver and ibluever... do you need me to continue with this list?) NEED background processes to live or operate properly. Hence crap battery life after JB.

So why run those programs, you say? Well, lemme ask you back, why JB if you don't?

Right now, the ONLY things I miss from the iOS+iPhone4 combo is AirVideo, iFile, the retina reso, the camera apps and backlit sensor, the DAC and some of the games. Really.

With my hugeass Momax batt, I'm finally getting comparable to ip4 battery life nowadays (in general anyway) plus my old ip4 had a huger-ass 2000mah iWalk Chemeleon battery case semi-permanantly attached to begin with - which still made it thicker then my SGS2 now.

Anyhow, 1-2 more month to go to the great Prime vs i5 showdown, which - unless RIM gets its head out of it pompous ass and gives me my dual-core QNX HDscreened Torch 3 by this year's end - will be the ONLY fight that matters IMHO.
