I don't think you are being fair to iPhone. Any phone with so many apps running in the background and if accessing WiFi/Internet/3G at the same time will consume more battery. AFAIK, all work requires energy (battery in this case).

I have an Nokia N8 and travel the road with friends using iPhone4. I think they are just as long lasting as mine.

On the contrary, I think I AM being fair to it. I mean, people compare normally utilized, unJBed iP4 to the SGS2, and say it has better battery life.

Now, out of the box, unrooted Android ALREADY does things that an iPhone user would need JB and additional apps to do, so I ask you back, is THAT fair?

What I'm doing here is PRACTICALLY (I had the i4, now using the SGS2) comparing devices used under similar HEAVY USE circumstances. I run ALL THOSE THINGS to get similar functionality on the iPhone as I do on the SGS2. That's perfectly fair, isn't it?

Granted, the iP4 has a non-battery sucking display which is smaller and a single core proc, so under any circumstance, it WILL last slightly longer compared to the SGS2, but certainly not by THAT much. At least not enough to make the "iPhone 4 lasts A LOT longer then SGS2" point valid.

The iPhone also heats up, has the camera blue spot problem, yellow screen and signal issues. So no good bashing the SGS2 for its faults either.

And really, I don't HATE the iPhone. On the contrary, there are parts of it that I LOVE. The sound quality is STILL heavenly compared to the SGS2, and taking pictures in dark places is still better on an iPhone (actually, with all the fun cam apps, taking pictures is better on the iPhone, period).

I was just dispelling the battery life myth (iPhone = REALLY good batt life, Android = crap battery life) and ultimately the very notion that ONE device is completely better then another. Every device has it's faults really.

On the battery front, under heavy, fully tweaked use, the iPhone only has a 1-2 hour advantage, really. Even then, it's STILL not running fully multitasked (sleep pattern alarms cannot run by themselves, some games can't run in the background etc etc).

Apples to Oranges, really.

@DAngel: Oi, I have those "mutant" 2700mah batts, okay.

@lolz1120: I have TWO Momax Expowers actually, lol. Only need 1 to last the day though.

Yep Momax, ugly as hell but NOT as expensive as the Mugen AND it's proven by Tids2k's measurements over at Xda to have 2658mah REAL capacity (Spider-Foot/Adinda extended has 2400mah vs the quoted 3500mah).

Can start a bulk for those too if anybody's interested.

Mind to share the thread or where to buy?

How much would it cost? Have u checked out the ori samsung battery cover that i posted?
*
I bought direct from Momax, slightly cheaper then normal local prices. Say RM180 vs the local RM200-250 (not sure local prices lol). Any takers? Can start another bulk no problem.

And the battery cover? Don't bother, it's RATED at 1,300mah, but like any other expack, it wastes energy on transfer and only has an effective practical capacity of 700-800mah. It's also unwieldy and badly designed (no on/off switch on a expack is madness).

Why am so biased against the Expack? I HAD one the very first day it came out (even before the folks at XDA), but it had those issues AND broke on me after 2 weeks. So much for a RM300 investment. I spent 320 on the Momaxes and got TWO perfectly working 2700mah batts yo.

@DAngel: harr be pictars!

The strange pattern on the back is my doing, it's just black glossy plastic out of the box. But the plastic feels a tad flimsy (and not in the ori cover's flexy kinda way) so I stuck some old Gelaskins + BSE film on it.

I'm consistantly getting 12-14 hours of heavy use (with at least 4-5 hours screen on time) with it, and with further crazy tweaking I know it can be even better. Just malas edi nowadays.

Things are even better now that much of the "notification heavy" tasks have been transfered to the BB. Full day's end I usually still have 40% when I charge it at 10-11pm.

I do get a lot of "WTF is on your phone" comments though. Not caring much coz of the much increased batt life, though maybe I'll get a proper Leica M3 decal for the back like I did my iPhone 4. Less conspicuous that way lol.
