As you are from Symbian and new the Android, i suppose the original stock firmware should be enough :-)
You do rooting if you want to mod/tweak your phone or you want to use custom roms.

Nope., custom rom means new build and customize the rom with additional mod/tweak here and there so your phone more smoother. Stock rom means original rom/firmware that Samsung release to the phone. Once a while Samsung will release new firmware updates.

Your phone should be more responsive. I heard Quandrant goes to 4K already. Is is true.?

Once a while better use the wipe one so you get a clean system. I heard only good thing about this new 2.3.5 firmware :-)

You using the wipe or non-wipe version.?
The wipe one can go up to 4.2K :-P

Most probably leaked/test version. But it's Polish official firmware :-) and that should be good enough for me. Try the wipe version

What apps have you already installed. If you had done hard reset, let every apps settled first. Certain apps like flash player will auto updating itself. Maybe you test Quadrant while some of your apps is updating.?
Try again later and see if you can touch 4K. I'm going to update my firmware tomorrow and see how smooth it goes :-)

Aiyoo..17 hours not enough ehh. Disable your data network and ALL your auto scroll/refresh apps then use ONLY for call and msg. You can get five (5) days of battery. More than enough..right.??

Go to xda and find Intratech thread. There you can find latest firmware with old bootloader so you can use your magic usb jig

Re-install youtube a lot of times but still the same
2nd HD video will hang.most probably due to insufficient memory!

It hang while streaming like youtube or when you play ordinary video clips.? If hang while streaming., maybe you network signal not strong enough. Try play your youtube on wifi.
If still hang on wifi and also hang when you play ordinary video clip..then better bring your phone to service centre.

Yes..it's one of 2.3.5 new features. Others is blue overglow. But loss of bouncing effect.!!
Good news is phone much faster and smoother, wifi and network connection improve. Battery also tahan much longer.

It can be many reason. A few of them is :-
- You off your phone. When you on it again and open gallery., it will loading up all your pics/images again.
- You kill the gallery app when clearing ram. Same thing will happen as above. Once you open back gallery., it will start loading up all your pics/images.
~~ Way to avoid all this is don't kill you gallery app. In fact there's no need to kill any apps.
~~ Once your first time loading at gallery finished., the second time you open it will be much smoother.
°° I have more than 18K images and it open without any lag or problem.

What nokia are you on.?
SGSII contacts will show only names on display. You have to tap at the contact names first in order to get the phone numbers and all the info details.. :-)
I transferred all my contact numbers from nokia to SGSII using bluetooth without any problem
