No your device is different KI1 2.3.5 is very much newer than KI2 (2.3.3) and KI4 (2.3.4)
Those i9100 on stock KI2 is gonna freak out.
*
good to know haha. that means G and non-G model are using different firmwares?
Still it would be good if i could upgrade the camera firmware. Anyone using larger capacity battery with another housing?

Not sure about batt, but g and non g model seem to have different firmwares as the cpu is different.

Finally finish restoring everything. Now doing Nandroid backup of new rom. Let the testing begin but still waiting on Jkay.
*
Is it recommended to get? As i intend to stick with stock rom for some time, i guess i need higher capacity battery to make up the crazy battery consumption. I was trying to download asphalt 6 on samsung apps ytd, error which says " application not optimized for device" I was like, wth is it because of the different processor? ;(

batt drained 8% during my one hour class in standby mode. Mobile data on but no widget updating in background, maybe except for gmail.

I guess it's too much ;(

Of cos bigger battery is better. But some people don't like the weight or the bulky look or does not fit current casing. It your preference.

But i usually stay away from unfamiliar china batt. I have only use original batt AND momax batt in my previous devices. You should check out momax batt, HK company who for me, make quite good quality batt for a very reasonable price. If you buy momax from local hp shop is quite expensive but if you order direct online from them it is cheaper even with delivery charge. I think above certain limit delivery also waived so really cheap.

Any local hp shop around sunway selling ori momax?

If we buy MOmax battery, will it comes with additional back cover to compensate the bulky battery thickness?
*
yea, but i wouldn't mind since the size is already so thin. biggrin.gif

Found this
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/genuine-samsung...case-p28950.htm

when i was in pyramid asking around about bigger capacity batteries. Apparently this will work on top of your 1650mAh ori battery, so u get 1300+1650 = total of 2950mAh. And it can be imported, so now i'm considering this with the momax/mugen one.

Besides, i find the audio output is low for original rom, is there any tweaks/ apps to enhance it? for unrooted phone.

The battery pack add a lot of thickness to the phone. i rather get the yaobao or eneloop portable charger than this battery pack. this ruins the slimness of the phone.
*
It's about 2x thick with the external battery, but not an issue to me. And it seems better to use original battery rite? biggrin.gif

hi guys, is there any way to determine what are the apps that are receving/sending data in standby mode? I noticed most of my battery usage is by android os which means the apps are using up the battery life. Also, how to disable the services which i don't use? Like all the hubs, i think by disabling them i could get better battery life.

Correct me if i'm wrong. smile.gif

Just replace my cheapo RM10 screen protector with SGP Ultra Optics, the quality is suberb! anti-fingerprint plus high clarity, I see no noise now.  rclxms.gif
*
Mind to share where u bought it? most anti fingerprint SPs that i come across will reflect some colour particles which is really unpleasant for viewing.

anyone spotted a red colour light between the front camera and the earpiece? thought it was normal until my housemate played with my unit and told me that his doesn't have the weird red light.

Added on September 29, 2011, 11:02 pmbattery lasted about slightly more than 12 hours with 3g on all the time and about 30% brightness, have about 11% left now. I can see that android os accounted for 30% of the battery usage, is that normal or it means too many applications are using up my battery, i know about people saying how redundant task killer is, and i don't really use it too. But what about the services? some of which might sync data when working in background.

The red light is the proximity sensor infra red range finder working.....when you make a call it will light up....or if you test in using androsensor.

I use the advanced task killer to kill every 30 mins...stops crap like gameloft games from running.
*
But it's always lighted on my device, how come?

That should not be happening...have you tried restarting your phone and freezing any apps that monitor the sensor like androsensor?

The range finder can really drain the battery, that is why it only comes on in calls
*
So by default it should not be turned on? I tried killing all apps and check into the services list, there's no androsensor, in fact i don't think i have it on my device, and it seems to me that i only have the usual services running.

Anyone having the same issue?

iOS has good battery life simply because it DOES NOT HAVE REAL MULTITASKING. JB fixes that (especially with backgrounder) and certain apps like winterboard and SBsettings (and celeste and colorkeyboard and multiflow and activator and crunchSMS and attachmentSaver and ibluever... do you need me to continue with this list?) NEED background processes to live or operate properly. Hence crap battery life after JB.

So why run those programs, you say? Well, lemme ask you back, why JB if you don't?

Right now, the ONLY things I miss from the iOS+iPhone4 combo is AirVideo, iFile, the retina reso, the camera apps and backlit sensor, the DAC and some of the games. Really.

With my hugeass Momax batt, I'm finally getting comparable to ip4 battery life nowadays (in general anyway) plus my old ip4 had a huger-ass 2000mah iWalk Chemeleon battery case semi-permanantly attached to begin with - which still made it thicker then my SGS2 now.

Anyhow, 1-2 more month to go to the great Prime vs i5 showdown, which - unless RIM gets its head out of it pompous ass and gives me my dual-core QNX HDscreened Torch 3 by this year's end - will be the ONLY fight that matters IMHO.
*
Did u mean u have the momax ex battery with 2700mah?

Yep Momax, ugly as hell but NOT as expensive as the Mugen AND it's proven by Tids2k's measurements over at Xda to have 2658mah REAL capacity (Spider-Foot/Adinda extended has 2400mah vs the quoted 3500mah).

Can start a bulk for those too if anybody's interested.
*
How much would it cost? Have u checked out the ori samsung battery cover that i posted?
