What is the difference between CECH-2506B and CECH-3006B model PS3? Both comes with 320GB HDD....

I would like to known the differences between these two models as I might get one soon.
I've google a bit and found that 30xx series consumes less power and lighter comapre to 25xx series, and something about analog limitation which I don't really understand. Is there anything else?

I do not own a ps3 yet but what I know is you can only get 5.1ch audio from ps3 via
a) HDMI > external decoder (Dolby Digital/DTS/Dolby-TrueHD/DTS-HD)
b) Optical aka TOSLINK > external decoder (Dolby Digital/DTS)

The RCA a/v cable is only capable to deliver stereo sound, and if you have an external decoder capable of doing Dolby Pro Logic II then you can have the stereo upmixed to 5.1ch. There is no multi-channel analog audio out from PS3. So if your speaker doesn't have HDMI In/Optical In and also cannot do Dolby Pro Logic II, then forget about 5.1ch and stick to stereo. In fact if your speaker is good enough (or you expectation is not high) even stereo will sound good.

The MixAmp can do Dolby Pro Logic II, decode Dolby Digital 5.1 and feed the discrete channel audio signal into Dolby Headphones. So you'll get 5.1ch via heahphones but it doesn't has multi-channel speaker output so still no go for Dolby Digital 5.1 on speaker but stereo upmixed to 5.1ch due to Pro Logic II.

Looks like this time I'm really close to get a PS3.
Now I have an option to get PS3 console + GT5 game + extra original controller + HDMI cable for RM1350. I am getting the splash blue console, but I'd try to match colour with the extra controller. The current blue controller... is it close to the console's metallic blue?
I already have a white PS2 and a red Wii, so I really want a console with different colour other than black

Finally bought myself a PS3
I asked the Sony Center few days ago and they said they have splash blue but today went to buy they said sold out... get a standard charcoal black.
Anyway, I was trying to sign up PSN account but I keep getting this "server timed out", I'm on WLAN and internet connection test is successful, I can surf internet fine... is it PSN server problem or what?

I'm on Streamyx 1Mbps...

Anyway, tonight I'll do some troubleshooting if the problem keeps coming.
My Wii has no problem connecting to Nintendo Channel and playing online, though.

Well, I solve my problem by simply enable the UPnP in my Riger DB-108WL. Now signed up four PSN accounts namely MY, US, JP and UK (using New York Time Square, Tokyo Tower, and Westminster Abbey address )

The latest 320GB PS3 is of CECH-3000 series while 160GB is of CECH-2500 series.
There are some minor hardware difference between two models. However, there is CECH-2500 series 320GB PS3 also.

Edit: It seems that there is 160GB PS3 from CECH-3000 series but I can't confirm it.

The PS3 was registered before? Bought a refurbished set?

If you are talking about first party R2 Japanese games I think all of them are in , err, Japanese. If you want to buy the same title but from third party say R1, R2 or R3 English version in Japan you might have to import them. If you want to buy those first party R1 English titles I believe you can get them in Japan or getting them online might be cheaper.

I got this but not everytime. It's kinda "now you see it, now you don't".

I'm having trouble with Ape Escape on the Move. The game keeps saying the sphere is out of range and the monkey net, slingshot, fan etc. is very hard to control as they are off centre. I've tried calibration but still the same. I have no problem playing using the Move in XMB as well as The Shoot Demo (the only game I have compatible to Move beside Ape Escape).

Noob question here: when register the 90-days extended warranty we are entitled top a free theme, but how to redeem? I've registered my ps3 since I bought it in January but i have no idea on how to get this free theme...

I've registered and got the extended warranty but I didn't get any code or sort. How to download from my account, by the way? I signed in SEN and I didn't see any download option.
