Same here, already got MDKS approval for reno, trying to get cheap grill also, any contact guys? Definitely will move in once reno is done in early april. Its a standard plan from MDKS. You can extend your kitchen and bathroom until your back gate and its includes your kitchen cabinet. Pecah dinding and all the awning also count in the kitchen renovation. I also bought a standard plan for gate so you can reno your front and back gate if you want. Total cost I pay is RM927 but can get back the RM600 as deposit. Hope it help.

Don't plan to use my renovation contractor as so far his price is on the higher side.

I'm looking for installer for paradox also, so far Douglas from Belco Co. not responding...so slow...the other company (Stratel) suggest Mr Chung from JTC Sec also slow until now no quotation.

Don't used my reno contractor also, expensive and workers all Indonesian, give u high blood pressure every time job done is below average!!!

I use one of the contractor that have office there, for small reno. (The cheaper one   )

They are OK, just on the expensive side, b'cos got established office-mah.

If you want to use them make sure you prepare clearly everything you need before nego.
Otherwise after contract signed, every single thing will be charged extra.

For extension, the rule-of-thumb pricing = ~ RM100 per square feet for 'usual' specs.
Best to get MDKS approval first. Buy their standard plan.

Everything in black n white. Good b'cos everything is clear, no arguments. Bad b'cos if you want to add any small things - $$$.

If you get an independent contractor - the one that drives round looking for projects - probably 10 -15% cheaper but risk also higher. If really gutsy - getting Indon workers yourself will be 20-40% cheaper, but may get heart attack

RM100/ sqft is the indicative price for wetwork to build the 'empty structure' which should include floor, wall, ceiling, roof, hacking, cleaning, standard floor tiles, wall tiles to 5 feet, one window and one door.
If you want better specs like concrete roof slab, pay more. if need extra wiring n plumbing, pay more.
Can be lower or higher, depending on how you nego.

I think you may want to prepare 15K, things can add up very fast - concrete table, plaster ceiling, extra light n plugpoints, sink n taps, etc etc.

don't hire Ho & T! very bad and slow service, they never follow our instruction & use cheap stuff but the charge is expensive.     

You can try Wei Jia Renovation & Construction. Currently he is doing a renovation work at Bromelia (2nd project after finished doing my house)
