QUOTE(nina. @ Sep 18 2011, 12:32 AM) Smart because they know how to spend the right amount of cash for a brand new branded and usable fork? Epicon is just another Fox (Kashima-coated) fork wannabe, it's a good fork but it's just the type of fork where you can forget it after a ride. |

Get a decent hardtail to start with, take a look at Giant XTC. (this is a Giant fanboy page, hehe!)

That's Danny Hart's Glory. Since his victory recently, Giant promotes heavily on their Maestro link technology. Like how Trek does with their EVO one-piece-design link.
Anyway, I saw one local rider just joyriding with his bike with full-face on. This post has been edited by Mike3300: Sep 24 2011, 04:32 PM |

I'm planning to buy a DJ bike, preferably with some travel. Any ideas on which bike to choose from?

I always watch Brandon Semenuk's video, and most mountain biking movies have those discipline so it helps.
Those tricks are not that smooth for me, but overall I'm really happy that I did it. What's a good bike to start with, any idea? Added on September 24, 2011, 9:44 pmFor the barspin is pretty explanatory and for the tailwhip, once you in the air just kick the frame to the side. From there on, it's all arms. kaizer, he got the full bike.
From my understanding, if I were to do tricks and stuff, I might as well get FR bike because most FR bikes have shorter travel and smaller geometry frame. I can still shred in trails. If I get the DJ bike, it's just another BMX frame with 26" rims fitted. Correct me if I'm wrong. Added on September 24, 2011, 11:55 pmBy the way, is it possible to fit in 2 x 10 drivetrain in an 8-speed RD? This post has been edited by Mike3300: Sep 24 2011, 11:55 PM |

Guys, any LBS have hydraulic gyro cables? I'm planning to remove my front derailleur and the gear shifter that operates the 3x10 chainrings since the T-Bolt have weird noise issue when shifting it. Plus I don't really use that much. I'm gonna drag the gear shifters to the lower part of the frame where the bottle is placed. Just like how Semenuk and McCaul did it. The only gyros are the brakes. What do you say? Any advice?

QUOTE(Raju @ Sep 26 2011, 12:33 AM) Any idea on how much is the full price? I'm currently looking into NS Bikes, their Holy and Majesty hardtail DJ is perfect. I've decided to go back to hardtail and use single chainrings and maybe 100mm FOX Float fork. Sweet! |

QUOTE(kaizer @ Sep 26 2011, 01:06 AM) Ya make sure your insurance payment is up to date ok? Will do, I'll keep the search posted here.Added on September 26, 2011, 1:07 amMike, since you're on the lookout for a DJ frame, I hope you can post your findings and pricings here. I'm interested in 1 as well. QUOTE(Cyphereza @ Sep 26 2011, 01:12 AM) Or scott voltage? At KH Cycle got one bike for sale. I think can get it for really cheap.Price is around RM2k or maybe less. Comes with Marzocchi DJ fork IINM. For DJing, please use bike intended for it. You mean KH Cycle is selling the Scott Voltage? That's a great deal. That's what I'm trying to pull off here, been trying to push my T-Bolt as a FR bike and that's the maximum line it'll cross. Pushing as a DJ bike is just not it. By the way, this is Cam McCaul's Trek Ticket. The price cost an arm and a leg again, probably more than that. ![]() |

Why some DJ bikes have single-chainrings while other might have a RD? What's that for?

I see. Anyway, Banshee Amp, Giant STP, NS Majesty/Holy/, and Specialized P1/P2/P3 are in the choice list. Will look into my LBS to have more information if I can order. Perhaps only frame as I have most of the components. I might need a smaller sprocket for the single chain rings.
Added on September 26, 2011, 3:36 amCyphereza, you're so right. Scott Voltage is the one that I'm looking for, medium fat-looking body frame is the perfect DJ bike. Most DJ bike have small and thin-looking frame, makes it looks cheap. This post has been edited by Mike3300: Sep 26 2011, 03:36 AM |

QUOTE(Invalid Username @ Sep 26 2011, 04:29 PM) hey guys anyone know where i can get a T-bolt now? its cheap so i might just settle for a MTB instead of a roadbike and use it for multi purpose QUOTE(kaizer @ Sep 26 2011, 04:31 PM) Lai lai, full bike for a bargain. Lots of components have changed for performance. But not as high-end as the rest here, bling factor at maximum level!QUOTE(Raju @ Sep 26 2011, 07:51 PM) |

If I were to remove the FD on my bike and only depend on the gears shifting, anything I should keep in mind? Some word on the net is that when you shift to gear 1-3, your chain will switch rings. Does bash guard come in handy on this situation?
