QUOTE(freerangechicks @ Nov 14 2011, 04:17 PM) Wahaha yes, local bike shop. Hmmm that shop sells Rock Mountain bikes also but he says no good so recommended the other 2. I just asked him based on what looks good but I also know looks are not that important but the parts used as well. Hmm any comments on the Raleigh Elite pro or other brands that are within my budget that you guys would recommend? parts wise Elite pro better. 27 speed. |

On the first day i got my bike, i tested it out then was thinking hmm, why this fox fork so keras macam batu? The next day after abit of googling around i realized the fork is on lock. |

QUOTE(chamelion @ Nov 16 2011, 01:11 PM) i need to finish the ride early so i in time tapau nasi lemak near my house (will sold out by 11am). I'm cycling from cyberjaya to PCP. Need to wake up even earlier. Haha. Wah where is your place? I love nasi lemak! Yeah helmet might get this weekend if got budget no helmet no ride. QUOTE(Sesar unjur @ Nov 16 2011, 01:19 PM) typical of being a newbie, always kena hentam first.haha..its ok,at least now i know something bout my bike.actually i bump into this thread bcause i want to ask bout the brake.for a disc brake sysytem, what maybe the cause if it doesnt have grip anymore?can send to normal bike shop for repair? Yeah its ok being a newbie. Many can't afford few k bikes so it's ok. As long you enjoy riding, that's most important. Added on November 16, 2011, 1:29 pm i got the t bolt for rm900 and installment for 9 month..dont hurt that much i think...can save up for a better frame..or better bike. Does the brake have too much play at the lever? That you press the lever till it reaches the grip? Might be cable loose or brake pad worn out. Send to shop if you are not sure what you are doing. |

Anywhere got sell decent chain tool? How much? Thinking mau get chain tool and cassette remover.
How much is a new 2.5 kenda nevegal? Thinking of selling mine and get smaller tyres. 2.3 for front and 2.1 for back maybe? Reason is i 60% road 40% off road. So 2.5 resistance too much ![]() 2.5 looks too big for road use |

QUOTE(chamelion @ Nov 16 2011, 04:25 PM) I read that nevegal seems to wear out faster due to soft rubber?I see. SB8 seems to get mixed reviews, some say good some say bad. Anyone tried it personally? QUOTE(kaizer @ Nov 16 2011, 04:26 PM) Holysheeeet! That pair of donuts are HUGE! Like DH kinda huge! Try Maxxis Minions at 2.35. Lesser rolling resistance and about the same grip if not better. Huge right I like the irony of using a Specialized wheelset on a SC bike with a GIANT seatpost. Heck, you're just short of Bontranger to make up all the big names on your bike! BTW, that handlebar is a recipe for disaster if you ever fell. Do plug it up. Added on November 16, 2011, 4:27 pm SB8 on a Nomad wo? Haha. No budget to get better seatpost and saddle so settle for giant lah. Even got kona stem on it Thinking of cutting the bar from 750mm to 670mm where im more comfortable but not sure yet. So no plugs yet, hehe. Wanting to get 2.3/2.1 front back, will it be okay? Added on November 16, 2011, 4:46 pm QUOTE(reform @ Nov 16 2011, 04:43 PM) As you mentioned you plan for wider tyre for the front wheel. Front tire dont necessary have to be wider but its entirely up to you. My reason for wider front tires is that more traction going downhill or cornering. If let say I have two tyre with different width , what are the criteria to consider to fit either wide or narrower on front or back? Added on November 16, 2011, 4:51 pm QUOTE(timothyy @ Nov 16 2011, 04:32 PM) That is called Rojak. Rojak is sedap wooo. 6k for whole bike. Nothing to complain la even if rojak pon. Really don't understand how it all ended up on 1 bike. Somore pedals also pawa! Weh, dont kutuk my pedals ok! served me for over 15 years XD Reason i used the old pedals cause the seller forgot to send me the pedals with the bike. ![]() Sudah tukar ini la, but gold colour This post has been edited by Proclaimer: Nov 16 2011, 04:51 PM |

QUOTE(kaizer @ Nov 16 2011, 05:27 PM) I'm riding a 'hands me down' SB8 2.1. Ok ok lo... But I ride damn slow. If you're a ripper, that might not be suitable for you. im a slowpoke QUOTE(chamelion @ Nov 16 2011, 06:02 PM) I mostly plan to do roads and PCP but its so troublesome to change tyre just for road and off road. Plus i cant afford an extra pair of wheelset |

QUOTE(kaizer @ Nov 16 2011, 06:37 PM) Well, like Mike said... It will give you a good training to prepare yourself when riding road with your bigfoot tires Haha, more training but its so hard to go uphill with those big tyres with single speed crank! Sucks my energy away Depending on how wide is your rims' internal width, if it's narrow type the tire will tend to fold under pressure/pinch flat. Even if that two doesn't happen, the tire will feel wobbly/sketchy due to too round of a profile. This is especially true for PCP red/black trails. I have to run more air pressure in PCP comparing to other places to avoid pinch-flatting. I kena big time a few months back when exiting the wallride at the black trail. One second I thought I was pinning it, the next I was spinning on the floor with the bike... LOL Nevegals has the tendency to pinch-flat/burp/fold under pressure more compared to Maxxis Minions from what I can tell. Erm, the rims says 599 x 20. Is that narrow? So maxxis minions better eh? |

QUOTE(snapshots @ Nov 16 2011, 08:10 PM) 2.35 hi roller up front and crossmark behind.maxxis usually runs much smaller.less traction and drag compared to what you have and easy on the tarmac as well. whats the difference between hi roller and crossmark?QUOTE(radmaszeal @ Nov 16 2011, 08:27 PM) sb8 2.1" is great for dry trails. once it gets wet i dont leave the house. especially when the roots are wet, zero traction. doesnt clear mud well, need to go 30km/h and above to clear mud, but then front wheel mud fly into you mouth. Good for dry only eh. |

QUOTE(kaizer @ Nov 17 2011, 04:37 PM) But but but... That would be 'used once', since the action of putting on the helmet that one time, is considered as used 1 time, yes? Besides from dividing with zero, the only logic explanation would be, the seller thought of putting on that helmet, but before he did, he got second thought about it and put it back into the box... But then, that would be considered as new! Since never wear before mah! Me brain overload liow... Eh guys, where got sell MET helmets? Seems good and fits my budget. |
