QUOTE(freerangechicks @ Nov 14 2011, 03:09 PM) Hi all, hope i'm asking questions in the right section. I want to try biking and search online and classified for a bike. If my budget is below RM1,500 what bike would you guys think would be bang for my buck. Currently there is a lbs who recommended XDS zero38 or nexus flame. What about the Raleigh elite pro? It looks nice. I did asked about RockMountain but the lbs says it's not a good bike. Opinions anyone? OMG... What kinda LBS would say Rocky Mountain (http://www.bikes.com/) no good but rekomen XDS and Nexus?! You'll be wise to stay away from that shop if I were you.Added on November 14, 2011, 3:27 pmA Monday tribute to the ladies that rides... The bike is definately not up to par by current standards, but they're good during their time.
But the brakes... It's the brake issue. If you're not mechanically inclined or not familiar, best to send it to a shop for them to give it a once over. Dun play play... No brakes is dangerous! Unless u can ride cutties through corners and do scrub, whips and etc... |

The frame design itself is outdated. It has too much pedal induced bobbing which robs you off the power. Heavy, and with 4" travel can't really ride hard. Something along the lines...

QUOTE(chamelion @ Nov 16 2011, 12:31 PM) then just enjoy the ride. Wah! U all go PCP again ar? only advise is dont do any upgrade as it's not worth it; just maintaining the bike functioning for a safe n enjoying ride. if u like mtb perhaps can look into better bike later.. ...and dont ask for opinion on ur current bike or parts as the respond is quite predictable... have a great ride ahead rider!!! ^^ Added on November 16, 2011, 12:41 pm |

QUOTE(Wyldemdd @ Nov 16 2011, 12:56 PM) I don't think it's about dislike the T-bolt matter,it's the fact that it's not worth it to upgrade it since the frame itself is outdated as in geometry and weight.Save up the money for a better bike frame and also parts.Newbie is always welcome to join and would love to help if we can help.Like i said earlier the reply might be harsh but it's a true fact about it.Cheers QUOTE(Sesar unjur @ Nov 16 2011, 01:19 PM) i got the t bolt for rm900 and installment for 9 month..dont hurt that much i think...can save up for a better frame..or better bike.. That's the spirit! What the guys here says is not that TBolt is worthless as a 1st bike. Since you got it for a bargain, use it but don't upgrade it. Ride it as it is. Then save up for something better instead. QUOTE(snapshots @ Nov 16 2011, 01:42 PM) t bolt it still a good bike for starters.i had a used one but wasn't long though. Some ppl can splurge some can't.all u need to do with whatever bike is to go out and ride... This Sunday I tot have Trail Quest in Kiara? Can still ride there meh? Now.... Kiara 7 am this Sunday finish by 9.30. Chameleon make it sundaylah. I ride my "race steed" |

Both aren't even in the same category wo?! my buyer want buy a complete bike full sus... which one better his budget around rm12,000.00 he want specialized stumpjumper evo 2012 or trek scratch 8 2012.... please vote... TREK SCRATCH 8 2012 VS SPECIALIZED STUMPJUMPER EVO 2012. QUOTE(Mike3300 @ Nov 16 2011, 02:01 PM) Coming from an ex-TBolt rider, it's a good bike. Don't let anyone tell you other wise. It lets you work harder so better when you move on to a new bike which reduce pedalling efficiency. Helps you build up stamina and be lazy later. You said it best, being an exTbolter... LOL malletX2, if your friend mainly ride his bike just for XC then get the Stumpy. It's a very good and light bike. Get the Scratch if he's doing a little bit of freeride and downhill, anything extreme with jumps. |

I need review and comment about this fork . IMHO, for field repair, any chaintool is better than stick and stone. But for home use, get a better ones. I was given a crappy chaintool before. Ended up costing me more than a brand new one. Coz need to change chain. Can pop out the pin, but kenot pop back in the pin without damaging the links... LOLAnd I am looking for a chain tool . Compatible up to 9 speed chain. Can anyone recommend a chain tool for me ? Either a multitools or workshop tools is acceptable for me , as long as it do the work well .If possible with a reasonable price would be better. While at the same time Any comment about CRANK BROTHERS Multi19 performance especially the chain tools? Thanks. This post has been edited by kaizer: Nov 16 2011, 04:08 PM |
