Is Uniten's Mechanical Engineering degree still recognized by IMechE? - Yes

How big is the mechanical class? - Very big. Mechanical student percentage is higher than other course. 2nd is electrical student. That's why now there quota for new student if they want to sign for mechanical course.

For the number of credit hours per semester, do students need follow the recommended ones in the Uniten website or they can add/drop subjects as the like? Is there a limit to this? - Yes. Need to follow. Old student can arrange own timetable. New student, they use new rule now. Cannot change anything. Stick to the study plan. Pity 

How many hours of revision (excluding class time) on average, is required to have a decent cgpa (3.5)? (For an average student with lots of Bs and occasionally some As in high school) - You need to work hard then. 14 weeks is short actually. After class, you can hangout. But spend a little bit of time to revise what you had learn today. Last minute study will cost you.

14 weeks total.
1 week (1st week of the semester. Intro of the subject)
1 week (study week)
1 week (final exam)

So, 11 weeks left. The lecturer will torture you. Those 11 weeks will be cramp with assignments, 2 test, and quizzes.
Imagine if you're taking 5 subjects ?

Sorry to say. Yes bro. My friend did quit Uniten and went to UTAR. He still student there, succesful student. Stress free, he said.

I'm not trying to compare UTAR and Uniten. As, I told you before "its hard to say because I never enter government one. But, what I can conclude here based on other student and lecturer experience."
Yes. But, you can try MMU tho.

Its hard to say tho. Every year, the number of student who apply for Mechanical course in Uniten increase significantly. I don't know why. Maybe Uniten getting more popular with this course.

You can try your luck, or can call Uniten Administration Unit for explaination. But, if you check the website. It will look like this. (Focus on the asterisk*) It says. Limited Places. 

EE ? more difficult than ME i'm afraid. The thing is, its better for you to take EP than EE. As most of the company nowadays more likely to find EP student rather than EE.

Plus, EP student will have Electricity Competent Persons from ST (Suruhanjaya Tenaga). While EE student need to study back all the EP student subject in order to get the competency.

EP student -> Graduate -> Electricity Competent Persons
EE student -> Graduate -> Took part time study (study EP student subject) -> Electricity Competent Persons

If you becoming competence person. Easy to get job
Most of the powerplant also searching for competence person, unless you are willing to work with factory.

The reason ? Well. My roomate is Mechanical student, Mara scholarship. He always whining about electrical subject which is very difficult.
During first year, mechanical student will learn Circuit Analysis I (Basic subject for Electrical course)

What he conclude is, mechanical subject is more easy than electrical. Why ?
Because the thing that you learn in mechanical involves gear, plates, designing structures. All of this can be seen using naked eyes. Gear shifting and moving can be seen right ? So easily can imagine and calculate.

Can you see current ? Voltage ? resistance ? power ? actual power ? apparent power ? 3 phase voltage ? single phase voltage ? How to generate electric using bicycle dynamo consisting of magnet ? 

You can't. By seeing the wire itself you can't see the current moving around.  Best part. He said, "Only wizard do learn things that cannot be seen  "

In my opinion, it depends on the student himself. It is all about psychology. Whether "I can do it !" or "This subject is hard !"

Yes, its true. Btw, EE and EP do learn same subjects throughout first year till 3rd year. Final year, only different subject.

You take Circuit Analysis with who ? If Qisti. Walao ! masuk kelas already died !

LOL. not really la actually. ahaha. just pay attention in classes, where you have good lecturers, who know what they're teaching. don't slack in the apartment after class.revise what has been thought, discuss with friends who have better understanding if you dont understand something. and the weekends is probably best spent on practicing questions and revisions, rather than going Mid Valley or The Mines. i'm not saying you have to lock yourself in every single day of the semester, but i would say, week 1 and week 2 of the semester should be the only time you allow yourself to enjoy. Week 3 onwards, no more playing around.

perhaps 15 days, when it comes to new intake applications, they are bloody TOP CLASS, for their timings and preparations for you to arrive. For any other applications in campus, you would be extremely glad if they can finish in 1 month..

ok, i respect your 2 decisions, but if i were you, i would include MMU as well into your consideration. E&E is more famous at MMU than any of these 2 uni's. BUT... if you saw my post from 1 or 2 pages earlier, i think you would understand why i would tell you UTAR is now a better choice than UNITEN. Besides, UTAR is majority chinese students, and from your "walao, GG.com" , it definitely sounds like you're a chinese dota-player.    i think you will enjoy UTAR alot more than UNITEN. and UTAR from what people said, has quite good standards as well, though command of English in that place is not really up to scratch apparently.

now, everyone can use their own vehicle. And this has caused more cars than parking in uni. And despite the admin's own fault of not enforcing the rule, they go on and clamp people who park unaccordingly and earn RM 100 per vehicle clamped. Its money for them, so they seem to enjoy doing this... I think when you enter foundation for a particular course, you should've decided by then already. Perhaps you can go to the Dean of the college to consult this matter, but depends on whether you know what you're asking or not. Careless words with the Engineering Dean, and you'll get a good whiplash of words from him. He's not a person known to have alot of time to talk with students .. lol
