QUOTE(rookie93 @ May 21 2014, 04:36 PM) it would be fantastic if you could bring a bicycle. Walk is actually the better choice now ,especially in the mornings, as the student council of the previous term successfully won a proposal to build shaded pedestrian pavements around the campus grounds. The boys hostel is very very far to walk. and its not exactly fully shaded walkways, (well by trees , yes). anyway, its still more reliable than the buses. The buses are NEVER punctual. They're either too early, or too late or sometimes, Missing In Action. Some purists., put the fault on the students themselves being late to the bus stop or such, well, in this case, even if you'r'e punctual, you'll still miss the bus sometimes. They're the most unreliable thing on Earth---> Uniten shuttle bus. So we can straight bring our bicycle during the day of registration? |

Uniten now seems to have 2 different types of single room d. It stated :
Single Room (4 students per apartment) 335.00 (per student) No. of rooms : 4 (1 room : 1 bed) ** Single Room (6 students per apartment) 300.00 (per student) No. of rooms : 4 (2 rooms: 1 bed) (2 rooms: 2 beds) May i know what does that means? what is the difference? The 2nd type stated 6 students per apartment and 4 rooms yet it is a single room. May i know hw is that possible? |

QUOTE(rookie93 @ May 22 2014, 01:50 PM) i kind of find it hard to explain in words here but i'll try my best. The apartments have standard 4 rooms in one unit. Each room is a single room. But starting next sem, there will be 2 rooms out of 4 the rooms in each unit, that will become twin-sharing rooms. they will somehow... have 2 beds in them, (probably bunker beds). With 6 people in one unit, obviously the environment gets more crowded, thats why, the remaining 2 single rooms in the 6 a unit apartments are slightly cheaper. oHH...Thanks a lot. Btw during the registration day, they say need to bring sijil asal yang lebih tinggi dari spm seperti STPM/ A-level etc. If i have not receive my true cert yet how? |

QUOTE(rookie93 @ May 22 2014, 10:28 PM) bring your spm cert just in case, and then let them know that you haven't received your stpm/A-level cert. I dont think this will be a big problem... eh.. you said true cert? means you have a photostat version of it? if you have, then bring along. Thanks. Btw during your time do u need to bring your true pre-u cert to show them? and do they give u a stipulated time frame to hand it to them? |

QUOTE(rookie93 @ May 22 2014, 10:53 PM) i enrolled in foundation, so i only needed to show them the SPM result slip. the SPM cert itself i only received 1 year later, so the result slip will do. Do u have a result slip/statement for stpm/A-levels..? if you do, bring that first. not compulsory to bring the original cert. These original stuffs are usually needed when applying for scholarships not for enrolment. i think you can hand it to them anytime afterwards, of course, earlier=better . If you forgot, they will call you to submit so no worries. Oh..alright. Anyway thanks a lot for being so patient in answering all my questions and doubts!! |

QUOTE(rookie93 @ May 23 2014, 07:45 PM) i would suggest you to add whichever subjects possible into 1st year. Its definitely better. First year, first semester, i'm not too sure i'd want to add new subjects in because, the subjects are not easy to begin with, But first year second semester, you definitely should add something. Its the easiest semester of the entire degree. I felt wasted having not added anything into my own in the past. Thats my 2 cents for you. But according to some seniors, for the new batch of students which is this coming may intake, we can no longer add or drop subjects as we wished. The time table is fixed. Csn anyone help to clariffy this matter?*** And yes, this i'm referring to the Mechanical engineering course only. |

QUOTE(rookie93 @ May 23 2014, 08:50 PM) i'm the first batch of the fixed timetable thing. It goes like this, for one particular semester, you will have to follow the course structure subjects, whereby, lets say there's Calculus in sem 1, you are not allowed to drop it to Sem 2 or later years. you must take it on that sem itself. this applies for all subjects in the course plan for that sem. You cannot drop that semester's subject. BUT , during the Add/Drop session which usually starts on day 1 of every sem, you are allowed to add future subjects into your timetable , as long as you are allowed to take it, and there is a suitable timeslot for the subject. So lets say, Malaysian Studies, its a Final Year subject, and u wanna put it into your 1st year, as long as it fits your timetable, you can do it, but only during add/drop, NOT during subject registration of the semester. Subject registration is where you register your subjects for the next semester, this happens 1-2 months before the next sem starts and this you can only register subjects which are in your course plan NO MORE NO LESS. you wanna add more subjects, you have to wait for opportunity during Add/Drop session which is much later. So in other words, the more subjects we add to a particular sem, we are able to graduate earlier compared to the normal course duration? When they say u cannot add/drop subjects, is for the main course plan itself. Whatever u have to take in that particular sem, you have to take. That's how they standardize a Fixed Timetable. Add/Drop , allows you to take extra subjects. Which means, later on , you no longer need to take those subjects, and it doesn't affect their management of student timetables because, you've already taken the subject anyway, one less thing to worry. |
