Thinking of going for the open day this 12th May. How is the Computer Science Software Engineering course over here, good? Would be starting from the foundation though if I were to enroll.
U can check back previous pages that i've posted.
In case u too lazy to do so... here i post again~
Software.Eng here average only. They'll teach programming languages such as C, python, Visual Basic and Java. The rest you have to explore by urself.
What i dont like here is that there are too little practical here (lab/tutorial), too much focus on theories and memorizing. In exams, they'd make it very easy (so those who are weak can score).
Plus, for IT/CS courses, they have included a lot of crap subjects in it, like moral u have to take once in Foundation, then another 3 times in Degree.
---outside of academic---
security - gotta carry ur computer with you all the time, since apartment robbery is rampant.
curriculum - Not compulsory. Very little active clubs, and activities are scarce. Not sure about other unis, but thats my general perception.
girls - Not many girls in here. But CS/IT is better than engineering, numbers-wise.
---The Goods---
Well, it's cheaper than other private unis.
The graduates have got a good reputation coming out of UNITEN.
No distractions like shopping malls/clubs next to it so u can study 24/7.
Free LAN DotA every night at apartment.
