anyone can recommend me a laptop the following requirements?

at least 1366x768 resolution
13.3" screen size, 14.1" is also acceptable
slim, the slimmer the better
design wise, looks nice

i will be doing uni assignments on this notebook, and occasional 1080p h264 10bit viewing

price wise, im willing to fork up to RM3k for it

DONT WANT A MACBOOK AIR since for 3k i can only get 64gb, which is low imo

having looked at acer aspire s3, i've decided not to get them since i do want an os installed on the ssd if its an ultrabook...

what i will be doing with the notebook:
1. assignments (microsoft word, excel, visual paradigm)
2. 1080p 10bit h264 playback
3. web browsing

my budget: as low as possible

screen size: 13.3" optimal, 11.6" if its a netbook

i might be installing ubuntu on the notebook...

so far have my eyes on sony vaio y series, but also wanting an ultrabook like asus zenbook or macbook air

is sony vaio y series good enough to do all the above?

is it possible to install ubuntu on macbook air without having to go thru complicated steps?

R830 doesn't seem to be an ultrabook... i looked at Z830 but doesn't seem to be available in malaysia yet...

my early budget is 3k, but given time, i might go for macbook air 13.3" which is 4k, hopefully i can find a cheaper alternative besides s3
