hi guys, looking for a notebook for a friend of mine

1. Preferred Brand = Any
2. Budget = 1500 + -
3. Usage = basic usage, microsoft office and surfing only
4. Preferred laptop/screen size = 14, 15 inch

As for the heat, it depends very much on your configurations, those with SSDs were reported to have much lower temperatures nod.gif The hottest parts are the right lower palm rest [Optical drive and HDD] and the upper center (Alien head there) [CPU with no dedicated fan]

Err.. Seen the Dell XPS 15 and XPS 15z yet? Those are pretty good as well nod.gif

The G series are powerful gaming machines, but the screen resolution is sub-par though@1366x768... Unless you import the ones with FullHD lo  sad.gif

Yeah, for certain ppl, design is important as well nod.gif
So its not always about specs and price  thumbup.gif

does i3 differ alot compare to B940,B950 and amd e-450?
which model or brand is rather longer lasting? my friend dont want to have trouble time in future of this and that problem...

prefer 14 inch
only on9 browsing, microsoft office and movies usage
