hahah silly me.. act what i mean is.. im not just into hard core gaming, i would like to use it for editing or programming.. and i also enjoy a great quality movie (1080p).. so which one is better between them??

and yah .. how bout acer AS5755G???
*
Both have the same processor and are both capable of editing and programming. The G53Sx is said to have Full HD screen as well, so its better for 1080p movies. The relatively more powerful GTX560m will also help in gaming~ So I think the G53Sx would be the better pick provided you are okay with the relatively larger size and heavier weight laugh.gif

then how about acer
or just consider asus, dell, lenovo, and msi?
*
Its up to you to decide laugh.gif brands don't really matter in most cases
Different ppl have different taste and preferences nod.gif
Just go for the one that you like, extend the warranty if you're worry, and then take good care of the laptop laugh.gif

i mean quality of brand because my housemate bought acer with free five years warrantly
it spoiled and repair again and over again until she change new laptop
*
Every brand have different lines of laptops e.g. budget, business, premium etc.
Budget ones will surely not be as good as more expensive ones...

Other than that, these are electronics, sometimes it depends on a little bit of luck..
But its mostly dependent on how the user takes care of his/her laptop....

Need a quick recommendation..

At a budget of RM2000.. what would be the slimmest & lightest laptop I could get..

Mainly for MS office, some work software & browsing..

Thanks..
*
Screen size? 13" or 14"? Netbooks sure lighter and slimmer laugh.gif

Can consider these:
13"
Dell
Inspiron 13z, i3-2330M + Intel HD3000@RM1799, 2GB RAM; colors: black/red *No VGA port
Inspiron 13z, i3-2330M + Intel HD3000@RM1899, 4GB RAM; colors: black/red *No VGA port
Vostro V131, i3-2330M + Intel HD3000@RM1999[1.82kg], W7HB

14"
Dell
Inspiron 14z, i3-2330M + Intel HD3000@RM1999[2.01kg], colors: Black/Red

Actually prefer 13"..
Any other brand other than Dell.. Dell is my least preffered brand.. Hehe..

Thanks..
*
Well, those are the ones closest to your requirements:
Others:
12.5"
Samsung 3 series [NP350U2B-A01MY/A02MY/A03MY], i3-2310M + Intel HD3000@RM1799

13"
Asus U36Sd-RX359v, i3-2330M + Nvidia GT520M@RM2299[1.78kg]; USB3.0 external OD, Asus optical mouse
Lenovo Ideapad Z370, i3-2310M + Intel HD3000@RM1849[2kg], colors: Blue/Pink/Black

The 3 series and Z370 doesn't have battery lives as long as the U36 though laugh.gif

Work, Surf and Games
4. Preferred laptop/screen size
13" and above

The 13" Z370 is not exactly build for gaming...
Can consider these below, these can handle games at low-low mid settings nod.gif :

14"
HP Pavilion G4-1204TX/1205TX, i5-2430M + AMD HD6470M@RM2149; colors: Charcoal Grey/Sonoma Red

Lenovo

Hi, any different in performance for the following?
Tecra R840-2002U, i5-2410M + Intel HD3000@RM3499
LifeBook LH701, i5-2520M + Nvidia GT520M@RM3299
U41Sv-WX031v, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2899
Which one is more reconmended?
Btw, what is the different between fujitsu S.M.A.R.T and Hitachi 3D motion sensor that used in Tecra R840?
*
CPU: i5-2520M > i5-2410M
GPU: Nv GT540M > Nv GT520M > Intel HD3000

If you're into gaming, the U41 is the better pick
If you're into portability, then the R840 can be considered
Fujitsu for reliability and faster processing power

I guess the fall sensor for all HDD works the same, retracting the HDD into a save position during falls? hmm.gif

U46Sv-WX023v, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2999[2.14kg]; USB3.0, Asus optical mouse

Because its not stated/ not stated clearly in the latest Asus product brochure laugh.gif

does intel i5 and i7 have a lot of difference in performance such as when play MW3? and does laptop have 8gb ram card and how much is the average price?
*
QUOTE(fJok3R @ Dec 4 2011, 03:19 PM)
most games benefits on stronger gpu, but a few of them would rely on good cpu also to perform well. but i'll say no much difference for i5 and i7 if you plan on gaming. ram supported will depends on the model, motherboard and slot available. ram is cheap anyway
*
fJok3R is right nod.gif GPU is more important.

Based on NBC's article, Black Ops seemed to see improved performance with a better CPU (i5/i7 compared to i3).. I guess its the same with MW3 nod.gif
i5 or i7 would be more than enough, choosing a more powerful CPU would mean you're going to have to make do with higher heat/ shorter battery life smile.gif

what is difference between intel i5 2430M and i5 2450M? does the "2.30 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 2.90 Ghz" affect the laptop performance? between "2.30GHz with Turbo Boost up to 2.90" and "2.40GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.00" , which one is best for gaming?

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Dec 5 2011, 03:14 AM)
Very tiny negligible performance difference in my opinion. Got i5-2540M in the market already?

Yup, i5-2450M is already available e.g. Dell Latitudes nod.gif
Gaming relies more on GPU... There are only a handful of games that are CPU dependent/optimized at the moment

Hi,

Between Asus Zenbook and Toshiba Portege Z830, which one is a better choice?

Rgds
*
Tough choice laugh.gif
Assuming you're referring to the UX31 here.

For the ZenBook you get higher screen resolution, faster performance (the SSD in the ZenBook is faster according to reviews) and better aesthetics
For the Z830, you get backlid keyboard and more ports for the price paid~

4.15'-17'

Can consider these:
Dell
Inspiron 15 (N5050), i5-2430M + Intel HD3000@RM2149, W7HP
Inspiron 15R, i3-2330M + GT525M@RM2049 *if got gaming

HP
G6-1107TX, i5-2410M + AMD HD6470M@RM2299

Toshiba
Satellite L755-1019X,i5-2430M + Nvidia GT525M@RM2299, 2nd and 3rd year local warranty

The Toshiba would be the best pick here because of the relatively powerful CPU/GPU and 3 years local warranty nod.gif
