dv4-3138TX, I can ask friends get it for me lower price, around 200+ cheaper than rrp.
But have to wait order, 3 weeks only arrive.

Could anyone please recommend me a laptop?

Brand: HP, Dell, or Asus
Budget: RM3000-3300
Usage: Gaming (diablo 3, red alert, battlefiled 3, some online rpg games etc), media streaming, and surfing internet.
Prefer screen size: Any size will do, planning to connect the laptop to a HD TV later, so prefer those will give a good display after connecting to the TV.
Additional: good and smooth graphic display, fast process.

Thanks.

hi guys, im currently interested in the asus zenbook ux31 but the only spec asus malaysia bringing in is the highest spec with i7 2677m 256gb ssd which is selling at arnd rm4500.

asus sg is bringing more than one spec. they have i5 2557m with 128gb ssd selling at $1500, i7 2677m 256gb ssd selling at $2000. harvey norman is selling $1700 for i7 and 128gb but promotion until today.

is it worth to pay couple of hundreds more to upgrade i5 to i7 in this case ? tried to google and it seems that the performance isnt improve much with the extra money spent. thanks.

since i have a gaming pc at home, i'll be using the zenbook when im outstation, doing presentation and for work. nth too intense but i dont mind if paying $200 or rm500 more for more future proof if its worth it.

i'll be getting either i5 or i7 with 128 ssd. i'll do with the 128gb ssd given since the zenbook has a usb 3.0 port. im thinking to get a usb3.0 500gb external hard drive for rm250. is it a wise move ? cheap but much more storage and decent transfer speed.

btw, just wondering can the on board graphic of either i5 or i7 sufficient to support casual games like pes2012 just to keep me entertained occasionally. =)

beware... this model cannot extend warranty by HP Malaysia as this is an US model ( which is not available in malaysia )... so by default only 1 year warranty depending on the stock warranty starts when if you dont have official receipt...

for the peace of mind... it's always better to get malaysia model... unless u plan to go oversea over a long period of time...

DV6-6B14TX use AMD HD6490M which is around 50% slower than HD6770M/HD7690M XT.

haha, wat i meant future prove is that by getting the i7 might be useful in the future if im to do something more intense on the ultrabook. as i think the i5 is sufficient to do usual tasks that required at the moment.

all in all, if the i7 performance isnt better than the i5 with a margin, then i guess i would try to get the i5 ux31 from somewhere as asus malaysia not bringing in. tongue.gif

Want a slim, light and long lasting battery laptop.
13"-14", i3 or i5.
Budget <= 2.5k

Currently torn between Asus U46SV (RM2499), Acer Timeline 4830 (~RM2550), Acer S3 (~RM2500).
Anymore suggestion from other brands?

What is the weight and how long the batt can last?

Beside U46SV, S3 and 4830, i'm thinking U36SD also but the spec not that good.
