No harm trying to claim exemption - the most it will be rejected only. However you can only make such claim once every 3 years only. I sent in to claim for my ipad ( 64gb/3g) 3 years ago and it was accepted

but currently my 10.1 can last 4-5 days including gaming and browsing now and then. wifi on. push e mail

screen brightness and contrast the tab 10.1 fares better pixel density ipad2 better.

accessories? more or less even. tab 10.1 accessories u can buy from online delears a lot of choices like google sun-sky

weight can confidently say tab 10.1 easier to hold, hands down. ipad 2, if u lie on bed hold soon your wrists damn pain cuz of the material used to make the ipad2, its heavy. the tab is more plastic.

basically premium build feel = heavy hard to hold
cheaper build feel = uber light, easy to hold

so there's a trade off there for sure

i tried using my friends acer iconia tab honeycomb 3.2
its seems to run faster than my stupid samsung tab 3.1 honeycomb...
i hate this tablet!

Does anyone here knows where samsung shop that i can get tab 10.1 wifi only (without 3g)? Standard market price is RM1499. Went to mines-no stok, call authorised samsung lowyat-no stock, call samsung ioi-no stock. I'm not keen to go to non samsung shop. Anyway looking for shop that can offer credit card installment too .

Don't decide based on ui smoothness. I have both and I always say the ipad ui smoothness gives new users a false impression that it is better. In fact I must say the galaxy tab 10.1 outperform the ipad2 in many areas: browser speed, flash support, youtubes viewing ( ipad2 can say is hopeless), email content download, file management
The strength in ipad2 - gaming, podcasts sync with iTunes, multimedia Andits vast amount of apps
Other I would say not much different
So decide based on what you want the tablet to do for you
I use my ipad2 only for viewing my iTunes podcasts, audible . For the rest the galaxy tab 10.1 , mainly browsing, rss, tweeter, Facebook, emails

My advise is you should try to molest both models before u make the final decision..but why not 10.1 instead of 8.9....as it will be another story if u r comparing with 7 as it can be easily slip inside the backpocket of your jeans.
