issit possible to connect the tab to mass storage mode?
like most android device? or it can only use the MTP?

i want to buy this tab, but now hard to find the wifi version.
weird that the wifi and 3g model has such big difference in price.
1499vs 1899

why would anyone pay extra rm400 for the 3g version? i dont have data plan from any telco.
even if i do want a 3g model, i would sign contract with telco and get HUGE discount for the 3g tab.

anyway, wana ask is MTP the only way to transfer files to the tab?

my point exactly. you only bought the 3G version, mainly because you have the huge discount i mention, which is signing a plan with a telco.

i dont think anyone would buy the 3g version directly without contract for 1899.
and go buy a data plan with another additional cost. its plain silly.

anyway, my frustration is due to the lack of stock for wifi version.
i went all around seremban (terminal 1, sen Q, sen heng, jusco, tesco), all no stock for wifi version.
even in mines, also no stock for wifi, all selling 3g version only.

if people want 3g version, they will get it from telco, retail shops should sell the wifi version.
i know rich people wont mind the extra 400, but for me the price is not right. with 400 i could get a bunch of accesories.

sigh....just ranting. wanted to get the tab as a present for my dad, the 3g is really a redundant feature for my case.
hope to find the wifi version before cny.

been using this tab for 2 days.
been heavily exploring the features.

man....i got to say i'm very dissapointed.

overall the tab is very laggy. i'm on the original 3.1 firmware.
scrolling through home screen is laggy, especially if you put these big widgets. a noticable example is the calander and the scrollable widget.

removing the widgets ensures smooth scrolling. but i was wondering why implement those widgets it they cause scrolling homescreen to be laggy.

and why the heck i cant reduce the number of home screen?
need to search for 3rd party launcher haiz...

most of the apps appear pixaleted,
the android market is soooo laggy.

there is NO folder support. this really confuse me, there is a paid alternative for it. which sucks, this should be free.

the middle part has a down arrow, which launches the totally USELESS samsung customize thing. always accidentally press it, especially when playing fruit ninja.

the screen rotation is slow. maybe due to it has to resize all the items on the home screen.

browser feels abit jagged. not that smooth, but at least it load pages faster than sgs2

default browser default agent is mobile, which is stupid since the screen is laptop resolution.

the recently used button is kidda redundant, even if i want to use it, its very slow to appear, always a noticable lag.

i already rooted, and freeze all the rubbish apps like hubgs, weather widget etc, but still quite slow.

the most used feature, which is the browser, forced closed about 10 times a day. opening 4-5 tabs with some of them being youtube video is too much for it to handle? and there is no "reopen all tabs" feature, sucks when it force close. :-(

i seriously feel my sgs2 is faster in every way.
playing "where's my water" on tab, the graphic is the lowest possible, the water flow like real water in my sgs2 and my friends's ipad, but on tab10.1, the water like blocks of water drops. haiz....

i have such high hopes for this android tab. but the performance is really bad. tegra 2 dual core is really slow, even sgs2 underclock to 1GHz is much faster. :-(

soo...soo...dissapointed in this tab. :-(

gee guys, i did mention i'm a newbie, just use it for few days (whacha expect? lol...) and in the last paragraph, i mention i hope to improve it (meaning i am looking for alternatives, or solutions).

when i first bought the sgs2, i was confuse with it as well. but after few weeks, very satisfied as most of the "issues& dissatisfactions" are resolved.

I am not here to troll. but spending rm1499, i kindda hope it would be a near perfect experience.
anway, i like android, and dont mind spending time reading how to customize it to my liking (kindda like a hobby)

i prefer stock browser, it automatically sync with google chrome. dolphin hd looks silly on the tab (i installed the mobile version yesterday >< silly me)
i just found there is a tab version of dolphin, will try it out later.

fruit ninja, my high score is 1088 (so i think i'm consider not a noob in this game), to get higher score, you need to strike the fruits in >3 at a time to get combo.
sometimes the fruits are in line vertically, so i have to swipe top to bottom vertically. this cause the silly touchwidz thing to appear if i accidentally touch the arrow, and i miss miss my fruit. *annoying.

where my water runs smooth, no lag, but the water animation are in droplets form. very ugly.
hm...i'll get a screenshot for you to see later tonight. you'll get what i mean later.
i read about chain fire, suppose to improve graphics, not sure can apply or not.

folder support, i google about this this morning, was thinking maybe go launcher can solve this, will try tonight. my tab is at home now.

sucks that my girl friend tease me her ipad is much smoother than my tab, both same price >< haiz...

anyway, already bought it, will make the best out of it. still prefer the tab than ipad.
despite the lack of games, the browser is more user friendly, i can easily transfer songs, pictures and movie to watch on it.

Added on January 17, 2012, 7:37 amThe pictures are in such order. SGT on top, then sgs2 at the bottom. i guess you can tell by the size of the screen shot anyway.

i notice 3 things:
1. Water in sgt is not transparent, while in sgs2 is looks like real water, semi transparent
2. water flow in sgs2 is smooth, less "droplets" (look at last picture for the most OBVIOUS effect)
3. Over all, sgt lags alot in this game, takes twice the time to load. ><

The graphic reduction is not a big deal, the bigger deal will be the lag.
the game is just much slower than sgs2. i'll just complete this game on my sgs2, i'm still in the 3rd set of levels. :-p

Hi :-) this game is not pixelated. the image is nice and clear (look at swampy, he looks good and sharp), just the water flow animation not that good. guess its cos the GPU not good enough. (sorry i keep comparing with sgs2, its my first android device)

when playing where's my water on sgs2, the phone gets warm and batter drains very fast, i think lots of computation is required for the water flow.


i've downloaded the app called "tablet market" it just link to the normal android market.
but it does ensure that the listed app are tablet friendly.

may i know where can i download tablet or tegra specific apps?
currently searching for a good launcher app, and a nice keyboard app.

currently using Go launcher, but it kindda have a bug, sometimes, when press home button from the browser or games, i return to a blank and black home screen with nothing. and it takes about 10 seconds to load back my wallpaper, icons etc. weird, but waaaayy annoying. wonder if this is consider force close, and the launcher is restarting. i already set it to be system persistant, and prevent force close, but still like that.

thumb keyboard is nice, but lags when i type with two hands, words struggle to appear same speed as my typing.

lol...day 3 with my first tablet, still have the exciting feel ^^

you want to use USB pendrive to mainly for transfer data to tab?
install AirDroid, its a good wifi file transfer app. (its free also)
very user friendly and fast. :-)
seldom use my bluetooth and usb cable since i have this app.

kies air require java to run, and its buggy, difficult to handle multiple files.
but airdroid can run on any browser, it can handle multiple files easily.
just a recomendation, try it out if you have the free time, you wont regret it. :-)

i found some instruction on how to flash to the android 3.2. seems quite straight forward, go download mode, use odin, press pda, choose the file thing, and just wait for it to finish.

hi, samsung always very slow to update.
i'm a new tab user and i am very dissapointed with its overall performance.

but don't give up hope, you can always upgrade it yourself.
i've did some reading, and flashing rom doesn't seem to be too hard.

i've decided to upgrade it to 3.2 by flashing the overcome rom, people here highly recommend it.
but the files are 300+ MB, i'll do it when i have the free time. cny coming soon, will be busy.

guys, any good keyboard to recomend, good as in fast, no lag.

i'm a relatively fast typer, thumb keyboard, samsung keyboard, and go keyboard fail to keep up. even in this post, the words appear about 1-2 seconds after i type them. so frustrating la. :-(

only the stock android keyboard appear to be more responsive, but it still lags.

or is this lag caused by lausy 3.1? upgrading to 3.2 become smooth?
try pressing "gjgjgjgjgj" rapidly, does the words keep up in your 3.2 rom?

The one I download seems like its for phones.
