if u use a samsung galaxy note/2/s1/s2/s3, likely most in the galaxy series with microusb port, the usb jig can help boot your semi-brick phone into download mode for last attempt of recovery before running out of options needing to RMA.

as stated, it is working on note 2 as well to trigger download mode.

has nothing to do with deep sleep problem.
it helps trigger Download Mode on semi-brick Galaxies that could not be invoked into Download mode through the regular 3 buttons press, if the bootloader is still intact. otherwise, u have got yourself a hardbricked machine that can only be revived thru mobo change.

there is no way a stock firmware could incur a binary count, apparently something you flashed have been tempered with.
the USB jig is not likely to be able to reset any binary counter, as Samsung has done its thing to block that ever since S2 KIx series onwards, and any other Galaxy models that follows.
you might want to try the Triangleaway available in XDA for that purpose, on your own risk.
Avoiding / circumventing from getting the count when attempt to flash is the best choice.
it's always a good practice to read and do your homework comprehensively before attempting any flash.

the USB Jig is best used as the semi-brick (bootloader still intact) reviving tool, i.e. to trigger Download Mode when the 3-buttons combo failed.

likely works on any galaxy phones with microUSB jack.
can't say the same for tablet with different data cable jack though.

hardbrick means permanent damage.
you can revive a semibrick phone, i.e. one with bootloader still intact, and the only way to tell if it's still intact is by plugging in the usb jig itself. no one else can tell if your phone is semi- or hardbrick unless tried.
