Try those strategy games from Paradox.

Or those turn-based war games.

So complex and complicated.

Just get Gormaz to explain to you, probably sounds like a lecture.

But I'm still lack of info for this game... the official site doesn't provide much.

Back in JA2 I like it when Deidranna release those some sort of mutant aliens and raid my bases so I can level up my mercs & milita. I just try to hold up against them as long as possible before I start to send my top mercs to their hive.

My all time favourite merc was Shadow!

One of the selling points of JA series is the mercs.all have their own personality and agenda and some do not like to work together.
e.g. Steroid hates communist like Ivan and his nephew Igor with a passion (he is from Warsaw, Poland which once was ruled by Russia).

All the mercs have memorable quotes too (especially JA2) and voice acting, which is amaze since the game was released in 1999 before well, voice acting become the standard in modern games.

Some mercenaries go well with each other.

However, they same time may go against player's orders / instructions.

Back then the customization offered on the JA2 was quite limited, can add up scope to a gun/rifle, put on plate on a body armor. & etc.

They should expand the customization options for the next sequel.

Jagged Alliance: Back in Action invading February 2012
QUOTE
Publisher Kalypso Media and developer bitComposer Games have narrowed the release window of Jagged Alliance: Back in Action to February 2012. Back in Action is a reboot of the classic Jagged Alliance 2, where players hire and organize a mercenary team, and deploy them in combat situations, while keeping an eye on morale.

Jagged Alliance 2 was popularized by its "plan & go" style of combat in which players assigned each merc actions depending on their action points and skillset, then played the results out in real-time strategy. This mechanic was adopted by some other strategy games, notably Combat Mission. The game also included tactical, diplomatic and economic tools to keep troops supplied and ready for the next flight, while keeping them loyal to the team.

Back in Action takes place in the fictitious country of Arulco, where a ruthless dictator has seized power and only a small group of rebels stand to resist him. Jagged Alliance has the player tasked with freeing the island from the dictator’s iron grip, but the island holds a deadly secret that even the hardest and most prepared merc team will find a challenge.

So far not bad at all.

The new Real-Time and Turn-based hybrid PnG system feels very fluid. Really reminds me of playing games like Silent Storm. For some reason, they made some weird decisions with the controls executions but once you get the hang of it, you good to go in no time. It's JA in Real-Time done right.

Sigh, everyday, I'm still reading reviews and comments for this game. Too many mixed pros & cons. I have 40USD to spend, at first I was gonna get Skyrim but missed the sale and can't get any -33% coupon.

Damn tempting to click the buy button on my Steam. But a few friends of mine said it's not that good but not that bad, a mediocre game, better wait for the price to drop.

Tried the demo but didn't like it. Maybe because of RTS/turn base hybrid as I tend to love the old game before.

Anyway might get this if got another steam sales. Who knows. Just for collection. Getting tired of Total War currently.

Jagged Alliance: Flashback gets last major update before full launch

QUOTE
Full Control has released the last major content update for its turn-based combat revival Jagged Alliance: Flashback before it launches in full later this month.

The game's now content complete, with the Angetta and Secret Sectors both present and correct. There's also new Energy and Morale meters for combat.

Sprinting too often will cause your team-members to become out of breath, reducing their effectiveness in combat. Taking heavy fire now reduces morale, causing "both the enemy and the player to panic, run away or make deadly mistakes." An added layer of complexity to Flashback's tactical combat. The developer video above explains both systems in greater detail.

Other additions include revised loot system with extra containers, a new enemy spawn system that varies the equipment and unit types of enemy squads, better squad AI and fifteen new weapons.

Jagged Alliance: Flashback launches in full this October 21. It's currently available on Steam.
