i tried Tiamat 2.2 on sunday at Razer Booth
or i think that is 2.2
anyway
the quality is nice and decent
not sure its have complete noise blocking though
or the event was too loud
those who come 11am> 12:30am are allowed to try the pc

Just checking , the Tiamat you tried out.
Did it had visible sound drivers on the exterior of the headset?

I saw a big one inside though
under that almost visible driver/speaker have small razer logo
sadly only dota 2 and Counter Strike GO available to play
can't fully felt the experience

i guess the rig doesn't have enough equipment to support it? or does it come with inline soundcard?
because if that is the performance of 7.1

The receipt of your product should have the company's name and address. Unless they issued you with a cash receipt. I mean just those normal receipt w/o company's address. Not from Ban Leong? Cause normally on PC Fair, Ban Leong is the one that sells razer. If it's from Ban Leong then you can just exchange 1 to 1 from them within 7 days from ur purchase date.

i left my receipt at home..
i think its not from ban leong..and btw, in the pc fair planner does show ban leong booth (516)..but there's none in the real pc fair..i bought this KB in the middle..a small razer booth..so dont know whether it is ban leong or not..anyone who made purchases at razer booth in recent pc fair???

Or perhaps the game does not support 7.1? Even you have the hardware for 7.1, if the game does not support it you will still have 2.1. How's the sound quality compare to audiophile headsets?

The sound proofing (insulation?) for Tiamat is really superb, but as for sound quality, I'd say its not meant to be compared with audiophile headset at the same price (sennheiser 555?)
