I don't wanna root my phone... yet.  biggrin.gif
I used to have a Galaxy Ace rooted so I know what you can do when it is rooted. So, I'm waiting till I'm bored and tired of the S2 before I flash any custom roms or roottongue.gif

how do you guys check what version of maps you have? btw, to disable auto syncing in background, is to go to menu>settings>accounts and sync and disable background data right? but i have to reenable it everytime i want to download apps from the marketplace and its annoying, is there any way to choose which apps are allowed and are not to sync in the background?

Never did try to disable Facebook from auto sync but u can try go to settings > accounts & sync > facebook .......press on it and un-tick everything
OR
Go into your FB app assuming you are using Facebook for Android , settings > refresh interval > never
OR
Try looking around the settings for anything that states refresh interval instead of waiting for answers by posting a question here everytime u get yourself into trouble .... If it's possible to set it , it's in there somewhere  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Ok thx for ur reply i'll find those settings

The official facebook app will ask you of you want to sync on first startup. So look for this function in the settings. If cannot find then uninstall facebook delete the sync and reinstall. Sure will ask you again when you first start it.

i found that setting already.

edit: planning to flash litening rom, it wont clear my apps and everything right? everything like widgets places, icon places, apps and app data will all remain intact?
