Hmmm..i am waiting for Digi to bring it for us.Perhaps buying it along with the data plan. Before this i wanna get Samsung Galaxy S2 to replace my old phone, but now i gonna wait  biggrin.gif
*
looking at digi's latest sgs2 offer which i feel is not good at all, i don't have high hopes for a decent bundle from them anymore...

their latest sgs2 bundle subsidies only the package and only have 24mths option. phone price is not subsidised.

I was surprised as well...went and check about it...some written its gorilla glass and some said no...according to corning gorilla glass manufacturer...its not in the list...http://www.corninggorillaglass.com/product...l-products-list...probably they not yet update with the latest device. Seriously i don't wanna apply screen protector to it
*
i believe both note and sgs2 is using gorilla glass. anyway, must always remember this line "Due to customer agreements, we cannot identify all devices that feature Gorilla Glass." smile.gif

plus, could be just the page is not updated.

now too sure why u choose digi
but for me is because its smartplan 63 is 3G "unlimited"
BUT now is no true anymore

as digi just changed its T&C recently and now it will be throttled to 5kbps for new subscribers
while old subscribers still enjoy the old 128kbps
5 vs 128 is big different not to mentioned 5kpbs is almost noway to load even 1 single web page from this lowyat forum
as the current digi background of this forum is around 600KB (600*8/5 sec) so u need 16min to load at 5kbps
*
i think the 5kbps is for the rm48 package. i remember the more expensive plans still had 128kbps.

guys,

original set is one or two yrs warranty!?? some said one! some said two? a seller just told me is one yr fr SME.
*
i think TS need to really start to compile a list of FAQ.

sets sold by SEP... 2 yrs warranty
sets sold by non-SEP (like from Telco)... 1 year.

that's been the practice for SME for the past few phones... basically give some benefit to SEP.

this is what i get all the time at my regular places -- office & home.

if i'm 'old' digi user, throttled or not, makes no diff... still less than 128kbps... sad.gif

but better than 5kbps. then again... i hardly even hit 600mb per month.

for those planning to camp... just fyi... when digi did that for incredible s, the queue started the night before. I think back then, about 300 units available at special rate. it ended up with reach centre getting only a handful. lots if upset ppl... I think soyacincau should have a post on that...

No bro, i don't think the S Pen works on other phone. The pen was design specific for Note. Had to wait until Friday to know for sure since i can try to use it on my Tab 7 and see how it goes :-)
*
I think out will only work on device with similar type of screen... from what I understand... it's like some kind of magnetic thingy...

quite sure it'll work on my hp 2940p notebook and quite sure the poem from my notebook will also work on the note.

Someone just told me the note has the dame battery size as the s2 despite the mah difference can anyone confirm or deny? Id like to put that battery in my s2 if its true lol
*
battery... benny888 already mentioned earlier when he got his set -- does not fit. bigger sized.

QUOTE(Baronic @ Nov 9 2011, 10:28 PM)
Whats so special about the s pen / screen that the pen cant use on other devices? Not connected by wire or anything also. Im considering getting this device but my question on the camera remains unanswered hmm
*
if i'm not mistaken, the pen should be based on Wacom's technology (or sth similar). From wikipedia:
QUOTE
Wacom tablets use a patented electromagnetic resonance technology. Since the tablet provides power to the pen through resonant coupling, no battery or cord is required for the pointing device. As a result, there are no batteries inside the pen (or the accompanying puck), which makes them slimmer.

Under the tablet's surface (or LCD in the case of the Cintiq) is a printed circuit board with a grid of multiple send/receive coils and a magnetic reflector attached behind the grid array. In send mode, the tablet generates a close-coupled electromagnetic field (also known as a B-field) at a frequency of 531 kHz. This close-coupled field stimulates oscillation in the pen's coil/capacitor (LC) circuit when brought into range of the B-field. Any excess resonant electromagnetic energy is reflected back to the tablet. In receive mode, the energy of the resonant circuit’s oscillations in the pen is detected by the tablet's grid. This information is analyzed by the computer to determine the pen's position, by interpolation and Fourier analysis of the signal intensity. In addition, the pen communicates other vital information, such as pen tip pressure, side-switch status, tip vs. eraser orientation, and the ID number of the tool (to differentiate between different pens. mice, etc.). For example, applying more or less pressure to the tip of the pen changes the value of the pen's timing circuit capacitor. This signal change can be communicated in an analog or digital method. An analog implementation would modulate the phase angle of the resonant frequency, and a digital method is communicated to a modulator which distributes the information digitally to the tablet. The tablet forwards this and other relevant tool information in packets, up to 200 times per second, to the computer.

if really magnetic... one does not even need to let the pen touch the screen... holding the pen a few mm from screen should also work.

Googled a bit and yes, confirmed Wacom tech...

Samsung Galaxy Note uses a Wacom digitizer for precision stylus tracking
QUOTE
And if you wonder why it works so well, it’s because Samsung teamed up with Wacom, one of the biggest players in the the pen tablet market, to create the touch layer of the Galaxy Note HD screen .

a Q to current owners:
Q1. the calendar (or called S Planner) -- does it Sync with Google Calendar like the normal calendar function? i hope Samsung is not that silly to go and do a stand-alone planner/ calendar

Q2. what is the software used to draw on photos? wondering if we can install that same apps and use fingers instead of stylus (install on other phones, of course).

Q3. if there is one thing you don't like or totally hate about the Note... what is that? <-- ok, can dun mention 'TouchWiz' or 'no custom ROM'?!? smile.gif

thanks...

nothing surprising... Nvidia already announced their product timeline all the way till 2013 or sth like that... every year... 'double' the processor... so, naturally, can expect phones with the latest chip every 12mths...

yes... normally pay by installment or convert to easy payment will incur some processing fee. but do check with your ccard. i sincerely doubt got card give free convert to easy payment.

last time when i bought my sgs2 from SEP 1U, paid using ccard with installment (12mths). there was an extra rm60+ for the processing.
