QUOTE(daruma @ Oct 28 2011, 05:44 PM) i wonder if can get advantage of faster card kingston c10 or not? A class 10 card definitely will perform better. I have tested DNA class 10 vs sandisk class4 on my SGS II . Most obvious is file transfer/copy the class 10 is at least 2-3 times fasteror just no diff than sandisk microsd. Playing videos from class 10 card is noticeably faster and smoother too |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Oct 28 2011, 08:57 PM) I try suggest to alieamin of bringing in Note flip cover together with the phones as i believe we dont mind pay a little extra to get our new phone protected as soon as we receive it from him. I will temporary keep it in my ex Dell Streak leather casing, which will be a perfect fit. |

QUOTE(yehlai @ Oct 29 2011, 09:49 AM) It is old tech if you use it just as a point and touch stylusBut the S Pen is more than that - you can do sketches/drawings, writing on screen, select , scroll, cut and paste into other apps. Based on the demo videos shown it shows much more smoothness and fluidity versus my previous htc flyer pen. The flyer pen cannot even be used as a touch/select apps launch tool |

QUOTE(M4A1 @ Oct 29 2011, 10:52 AM) Is Gingerbread and can be upgraded to ICS by next year 2012 ( when , no idea - hopefully q1 2012 )Added on October 29, 2011, 11:01 am QUOTE(alieamin @ Oct 29 2011, 10:58 AM) 1 more thing the pen can do now is capture screenshot. This was in the video I posted yesterday about screen capture using pen and using palm slide over display other features tooAlso by flip ur hand through the display. I dont see any demo video did it,but SME trainer show to us last time. its not just an ordinary pen. Can go beyond that in future Also the touch screen i notice there is some kind of sensor which not have in other samsung's devices. Solely for note i believe right now This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 29 2011, 11:01 AM |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Oct 29 2011, 11:23 PM) ~~@ benny888 Definitely - will do it on day one just like my SGS IIYeah Uncle Benny. Using netchip CWM5 is much easier. Flash CWM5 using Odin and then use that CWM5 to flash superuser zip file for root. :-) You gonna root your Note when the phone arrive., huh Uncle Benny.? |

QUOTE(daryl020189 @ Oct 30 2011, 12:44 AM) wouldn't u regret if the galaxy note is not smooth as the sgs2? i am looking for this note or nexus to upgrade from my sgs as it really irritates me with the lag and slow speed You cannot compare the SGS with the SGS II - I have used the SGS and in all my Android phones I have used , it is right at the very bottom of the ranking . Even my ex HTC HD2 on Android outperform itI would say the SGS Note will not lose out to the SGS II due to its more superior specs and based on all the demo videos it is definitely smoother and faster than the SGS II |

QUOTE(daryl020189 @ Oct 30 2011, 01:03 AM) i see...thats why i am afraid to change my phone 1st...i am looking for an android phone which is fast and smooth as the iphone 4. sgs is smooth at first but after installing apps, it slowly become laggy... >.< hate it To improve the SGS, you need cook rom using EXT4 file system. The default RFS file system of the SGS was Samsung biggest mistake. However the improvement is not substantial but it helps to alleviate the lagginess |

QUOTE(daryl020189 @ Oct 30 2011, 01:18 AM) haha....considering between nexus and note loh...but there are weaknesses in each...nothing is perfect. That is life - you can never get the perfect 10/10 devicenote: no ics yet...display less ppi, no zero shutter, scare not as smooth as nexus in future ics nexus: lousier hardware, no s-pen, only 5mp camera but image quality not yet known Just decide based on your NEEDS which meets your requirements better |

If the local AP sets , sellers are already selling at RM 2399 , I'd suppose the actual SME sets should be lower by at least RM 100-200 > Well , even at RM 2399 for SME I'd still think is a good price

QUOTE(uniquexme @ Nov 2 2011, 09:44 AM) u guys tried the email function on note? is it fast in terms of receiving email? maybe compared to iphone4? (i know its impossible to compare with bb) I would think it will be faster than iphone 4 as iphone4 email content download is not fast and loses out terribly to most of my androids 1 ghz n above. |

To answer some questions post before:
- It is not as "hot" as the SGS II ; infact I must say the insulation seems better - at the same temperature ,say 40 degree - i hardly feel the heat coming through the casing - the back casing quality is similar to the SGS II except the matt pattern is finer. Maybe the casing is still new, slight a bit more difficult to take it off and put it back on versus the SGS II - tested my favourite launchers : 3D Mobile shell - not suitable as the screen was too big and all the display was was shrunken view. Zeam launcher - swiping across screen lag and jerk , a real turn off, I'd assume this launcher is not optimized for bigger screen. So meanwhile I stick back to TouchWiz and install the app appzorter lite so that all the apps can be displayed in alphabetical order - speed of opening/launching apps quite similar to SGS II - don't see any lag as described by albert - the S Pen fits very firmly and I believe is also being hold by some form of magnet and is unlikely it will drop off - kernel build is XXKJ4 - No Chinese language option - Battery size is 0.85 mm longer and about 0.6 mm wider than SGS II battery ; so no hope of using this battery in SGS II - Overnite with various apps refreshing data every hour ( email, tweeter, RSS , newsfeed ) battery drop over 8 hours about 10 % ; would say is pretty good - WOW ! I really love the bigger display. Everything especially when on browsing it looks so much better Temporary protect my new toy in my ex Dell Streak casing : A perfect fit |
