Finally I change to Continental CC5 195/55/R15 4pcs straight this morning because out of the original tyre (Synergy M5) 2 pcs were "bengkak" which will blow anytime and another 1pcs was hitted with screw. My car mileage is about 34k as now, the tyres tread were about 50% left.
Review of CC5 (compare with Synergy M5) Noise - It is a very big improvement. - On highway, the music sound (USB) can still be heard even the volume is 5 at the speed of 110kph. The music slowly unhearable after 120kph, mainly covered by the wind sound of side mirror and engine noise. - In town driving, the sound impact from uneven roads/bumps is greatly reduced, no more "batu" feeling. - No more tyre rubber sound in shopping complex parking. - When the car is not moving, no visible tyre noise when turning steering. - Now engine noise is the most visible sound. - On the other hand, steering rack vibrate still persist. Performance - Pickup not as good as Synergy M5 but very close, due to size 195/55/R15. (I don't mind for the sake of comfort - On dry road, suprisingly it is not as grippy as Synery M5 when speeding above 130kph, maybe it is still new. Keep in view. - Haven't really tested cornering, but sidewall seems softer, may not as zippy as Synergy M5. Keep in view. - Haven't tested wet performance, it is not raining today - On the other hand, speedo meter change to slightly slower by 5-10kph (means actual speed faster). Summary - It is well worth if what you want is a more comfort drive |

QUOTE(tyenfei @ Jan 16 2012, 04:35 PM) walao .. don't say that lah need more review! need more review! I don't get any commission and not taking any responsibility if the product below your expectation the result: Like I mention .. "You will love driving your car" I really feel the different. Seller told me Perodua car usually need 2~3 days (is actually a few round of on the road start/stop engine) to let the ECU work with new VS. Then will see the different. For me, after install I didn't feel acceleration increase/ headlamp brighter/ music become clear (maybe already in good shape ^^) .. the only thing appear in my mind straight a way after start engine is ..... ...... "Ooooi?" then gear shift to R, then to D and drive . "woo........!! One word .. SMOOTH!! " Let me continue monitor and review again thinking to spend my angpow for this hehehe Eithanius, how's your piece of trash? |

QUOTE(backislan @ Jan 18 2012, 03:06 PM) hi guys, getting my car next week...been following this forum n a lot of u say do some insulation...so whats the 1st step?what do i insulate 1st...not thinking of doing it in 1 shot....phase la....any recomendation? most effective is change the 4 donuts (silverstone m5) when u first get your car. like change to Continental CC5, maybe 1pcs only need to top up RM40. insulation comes second.no matter how good the insulation is, the tyre noise is getting noisier over time. after change the donuts, do insulation on 4 doors>back bonet>engine cover>roof Added on January 19, 2012, 8:08 am QUOTE(n8210 @ Jan 19 2012, 08:03 AM) wooi lu mau change back from xm2 to M5? QUOTE(wtm0325 @ Feb 15 2012, 07:04 PM) Just ordered Coil Spring buffer Ok here's my personal review:http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2026334&hl= Will give a review next week RM80 with postage to door step Alza feels more stiff especially over bumper. Original condition - When over bumper at fast speed, the car will bounce few times before it is stable again With coil spring buffer - When over bumper at fast speed, the car will back to stable almost immediately Overall experience - the car not so wobble, a cheap add on for slight comfort and driving experience. As now haven't try to full load the car yet with 7 people, but it looks promising. Recommendation - Need to install it properly especially the buffer lining to the spring, otherwise the rubber might go into bad shape or have sound. |

QUOTE(n8210 @ Feb 21 2012, 07:42 PM) No need gua.. QUOTE(Eithanius @ Feb 21 2012, 08:00 PM) I still prefer wobbly over stiff suspension, got spoilt by my old Camry... But does it add comfort when going over uneven roads...? You mentioned stiff, so I imagine it's worse than it was before as added stiffness means less absorption on uneven roads or those super narrow speed breakers (bumpers)... Comfort on uneven road like before, not wobble over bumpers after install. Speeding and cornering is now more stable. I believe the impact on uneven roads/speed breakers was already absorbed by the Continental CC5 Maybe I am over optimistic, but I am happy with this slight comfort which only cost RM80 |

QUOTE(tyenfei @ Feb 24 2012, 11:55 AM) can join Added on February 24, 2012, 7:22 pm QUOTE(chicken7 @ Feb 24 2012, 09:55 AM) got alza 2 days ago. Thanks for the reviewwas worried esp those posts in v1 about how bad alza was. thot just drop some input esp for potential buyers. 2012 model (shown on reg card as 2012) 1. move P to R, gearbox no jerk, pretty smooth. 2. no wind sound on side windows cruising on highway ~110km/h 3. no rattle sound in car (town/highway) - maybe rattling will come after a while 4. noisy silverstone M5 tyres 5. surprisingly pretty quiet inside (for my standard, was using Myvi) - more quiet after change to continental CC5 6. steering no sound when full turn left and right 7. heavy rain on highway, but notice rain drop sound hit on front windscreen louder than on roof - didn' t feel like "atap zink", raindrop sound feels normal like Myvi roof 8. Stone hit on wheel arch or under car floor is very loud but can live with it. - not that stone always hit under car, only on stony road or newly tar road. 9. aircond compressor on/off, feels alrite at the moment, need more time to confirm Went tyre shop immediately after drove out P2. 4 biji CC5 RM840, trade in 4 biji M5 RM400 (lazy drive around bargain, only ask 2 shops) Point 1,2,3 you may need to keep in view This post has been edited by wtm0325: Feb 24 2012, 07:22 PM |

QUOTE(Eithanius @ Apr 4 2012, 11:59 PM) I might have the same problem with yours, but mine's are more like a single jerk... this is when the air-cond is on. The rpm fluctuates when it jerks. Some said mine could be timing issue... My front suspension got noise again... Ni service kat luar ke...? Atau Perodua...? |
