QUOTE(gamenoob @ Dec 14 2012, 10:43 AM) After having the Alza for a year now, I really like this car. Although its my wifes but every we go especially market, pasar malam, or places that have poor parking space where lots of ding and scratches from other car... Alza it is.. honest opinion from a real man We use this car quite heavily on short city traffic usage... lots of idle and full AC. Other than the beginning ownership, the brake booster that have creaking sound on pressing/stepping which P2 have replace, the car is as good as one can expect from $60k. No other car come close in terms of practicality, ease of maintenance and low cost, and good RV. P2 service turnaround and ease of use really rival the so called Euro/German marque. Yes there are some niggling factor which is the wind noise above 70kmh... it wasn't there on day 1 but somehow the wind noise developd on front left side. Now I can see a gap that is about 5mm which allow wind to "whistle" into the door panel. Wasn't there on day 1, maybe some plastic shrinkage or some rubber piece fell off. Will complain on next service. Temporary solution, I just put a tape over it. Noise gone even above speed limit. Changed the ori tyres to Conti CC5. Traded in for RM25 each ... Damn... And paid RM185 each for CC5. Immediate noise reduction. I used them in the Myvi before Alza so I know the noise suppresion quality. Also on recent outing to Johor and Penang, I drove mainly at speed limit (AES ma...) and my FC was 6.3L/100km. We have full passenger load too. I wonder what other car I can replace the alza few years from now for such price.... |

tyenfei, can enlighten me how to dismantle the cd/player?
today i stuck half way there after removing the 2 screws below the cd player, pulling from bottom of the cd player doesn't pull off the whole thing, it still seems very tight on top. Anything miss out? I want to put some sponge into it.. On the other hand, anyone has idea how to solve the B-Pillar noise? I still can't figure the solution yet.. |

QUOTE(Eithanius @ Dec 16 2012, 09:28 PM) Not really a proven solution yet, but have you tried taking out the plastic cover and whack some insulflex material on the tip of the pillar metal...? Yeah that's after putting those insulflex material.. Maybe I need to try the suggested solution from Delloyd79, he back then mentioned it was caused by the door latch thingy.. Let me try first.. |

QUOTE(Eithanius @ Dec 17 2012, 09:35 PM) Chill bro chill...Ā Sean (DaBestOne taiko) called me just now to apologize for his marketing team for being too aggressive Though I never pay attention to DaBestOne on his siggy as I always thought he has an alza, but I think flex3x is also guilty of the same offence - kept posting one-liners... Notice the similarities on their siggies... Ok case close.. tiensong, sometimes is not those loosen screws, is the joints between clips etc Welcome to rectify those sounds together This post has been edited by wtm0325: Dec 18 2012, 01:29 PM |

To update:
My B-pillar noise haven't solve yet.. I dismantle the B-pillar and drive, but couldn't identify the culprit.. Suspecting it maybe from backdoor instead Btw I bought rubber lining for all 4 doors from Edy MAOC for better soundproofing, gonna add them this weekend |

Suddenly feel so hopeless on the soundproof.. the b pillar seems couldnt be solved.. it's more like the joint problem..
Finally dismantle the cd player and sabotage inside, but the rattling sound still got.. darn.. I think the best way for soundproof is switch on music whenever on road |
