Just got myself a N55SF at RM2620 with 4GB RAM free upgrade yesterday evening at lowyat plaza

All I can say about this laptop is magnificent practically in all aspect. The best price-to-performance laptop at its time.

For those who are still curious about the spec, check my siggy. I put there fairly detailed and precise spec - for simplicity's sake.

But I felt a bit regretted as there is new N55SF with 750GB HDD. 'Patience gives you fruits lol'.

Lastly, Simon please add me to the owner list of Asus N5 series

i5 new batch come with HD+ (1600x900),
i7 new batch come with HD  (1376x768),

confirmed coz i just back from lowyat. 

Just came back from lowyat. Brought my fren to get his N55SF i5 new batch. Dammit, shouldn't have followed, coz i danm regret getting my N45SF now>.< But still, new batch i5-2430m comes with HD+ confirmed.

Only i5 model come with hd+ ?

Dear Desire Buyer of N55,
Today I went there walk around to check around see if the new batch of N55SF - S2353V arrive...

Most of the seller said that new N55SF haven't arrive yet,need to wait about one or two weeks coming in a new batch of N55SF.

I've make a lot of enquiry about the resolution thing & they claims that previous or new N55SF only comes with 1366 x 768 resolution,there is no such thing as 1600 x 900.   Some of them even said "Guarantee" 

And FINALLY,I manage to find one of the Asus shop that selling a NEW N55SF - S2353V comes with 750GB(7200 rpm) & 1600 x 900 resolution!

I approached the Seller asking him how come he is selling 1600 x 900 res but others just sell 1366 x 768 res? I was been told that they are the "Primary" dealer with Asus Malaysia,so they can get a better offer & resolution  blah blah blah... 

At first I just take a look & try the demo set,then he offer me a fair price with this lappy & come to the end,I can't tahan the offer so I grab it immediately   

Pls remember to check the lappy immediate when after you buy,take ur time to check what ur desire N55 system plus resolution.You know,a lot of dishonest laptop seller @ lowyat 

Anyway,hopefully this survey will lead to all intention buyer

it just say only got black colour

and from the brochure, i tot the harddisk is using 7200rpm ??
but TS say using 5400rpm

we can just create a backup dvd and that is all.

i see, if driver problem then should be able to solved, as long the hardware is reliable i suppose 
apparently the brochure is not correct, most shops in lowyat sell at 2699 with 8 gb ram, and some free gift, but no very important. extra 4 gb is given by the shop itself, since official partner like mtcs also provide this offer so i think they might be having some promotion now or may be newer batch is gonna come with better specs? 

n55 is quite a tempting machine there, although the gt555m is a weaker version...

i asked them the warranty is 2 years international, but can extend to 3 years add on 350 at service centre @ imbi plaza.

i really don't like the lid man, so glossy and easy to get fingerprint when touching! and the palm area is plastic and it gets hot on the display unit! and they are not even opening games or what, just on for display only.

do you guys experience problems with fingerprint and the heat? fingerprint i might consider putting some sort of cover, but the heat, if use for long time/gaming, wouldn't it be uncomfortable or harm the graphic card inside?

sometimes i open game 3-4 hours non-stop i scare i will fry the card if too hot oh

hey , guys im interested in buying the N55SF-S2043V, tis is the version with hd+ right ? anyway i wanna get it on thursday latest , but the lowyat sellers arent replying me yet . so i wana ask do any of u know any shops tat hav available stock near sunway area preferably . lowyat would be fine too. on a side note is there a better model than tat ? my budget around 2600 wouldnt mind some suggestions =D

how do you put it? open up the upper casing and put urself? wouldn't it be like a insulation and trap the heat inside the chamber?
ooo 2550, i got offer at 2580 without upgrade ram and gifts. i guess small difference between the shops.
ermm what is the difference between old batch and new batch for the extra rm 100? mostly i saw in lowyat with price tag 2699.

if based on the oct nov brochure the spec is still the same as what those priced rm 2699 right? unless they are really changing the gt555m lol, then i str8 go buy no need think liao

i see, did you buy the new one or the old one? is there some difference between them that evernew told you? if all same i really go grab the old one before the price is up man.

for the ram i can use the 8 gb since i do some work with vm sometimes so i guess the value is there. and n55 8gb ram is max already isn't it? it doesn't have 4 slots for ram so no much to choose also...

the keyboard is fragile? aren't they the same type with those old lappy? the new ones use the chiclet type, but i have use the old type for quite a long time and it nvr spoil. do you experience some key detached or jam? or can't type even if pressed hard? it is quite a good machine there, but if the keyboard is not gonna last then it is a pity...
i am not sure if they listed down the ram serial number or not in your receipt, if yes, then they can verify that it is really a wrong one, otherwise hard ler, they dun know if the customer change the ram, so they won't risk to give you the 1333 one... and if you bought it in sarawak, can you send to the shop and ask them to send to ASUS if needed? otherwise you have to go to kl just to bring the laptop? quite troublesome man.

Finally BIOS 218 is available for download.

I've only seen 1 year extended shop warranty so far. It is not by Asus but some private insurance companies. I wanted to pick that too, my friends told it is not worth it. And, what does the warranty cover?
