Yes it can easily reach 3hrs if u turn of ODD,Wifi and Bluetooth.
But if u want more battery life,reduced the screen brightness to 50% or less

I never set my brigtness to 50% on battery.I always set it to 20-40%.That way i can get almost 4hrs with Wifi ON in airconditioned library.
Mind you im using N55 i7.If u use i5 version, i believe u can squeeze more time from the battery

Not bad for the specs.At least u get full hd albeit only Blu Ray reader.But not everyone needs a Blu Ray Writer.
