Hi Everyone,

I just want to know more information about the Rapidpass Pelajar.

The RapidKL offers 2 type of Rapidpass Pelajar.

- Rapidpass Pelajar Bas - RM 50 (for unlimited bus use)
- Rapidpass Pelajar Intergrasi - RM 100 (unlimited bus, LRT and Monorail)

The description for these pass were "Rapidpass pelajar is a monthly students’ travel pass which offers 50% discounts for students. Students can enjoy unlimited rides for 30 days on all RapidKL buses and LRT as well as the Monorel. The card uses the Touch ‘n Go system. "

They mean 50% discounts for students? But why they said about unlimited rides? Isn't that if I bought the pass for RM 100 I can ride anywhere with buses or LRT without paying the fares? Or I need to pay the fares with 50% discount? Confused rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

50% discounts as compared with the normal fares if you take the public transport daily.

For example, I use nearly RM80 per month just on the bus fares(which I could cut cost on by buying a rapidpass pelajar bus where I can get a 30ringgit discount but I have my own reasons). Its cheaper if you use it daily but if you're not, go and buy a rapidbet card(buy it at the rapidkl bus, don't buy at the lrt station those, expensive)

So do you mean that if I bought that Rapidpass Pelajar for RM 100, then I still need to have pay for the bus fare but 50% discount? hmm.gif

Once you bought the card for RM 100 everything don't have to pay already, but why still it mean by saving up 50%? Lol

Okay I just wanted to know, no matter what I get into the buses or LRT, do I have to pay fare or just scan the card?

50% discount is referring to the normal RapidPass which costs RM100 (student: RM50) for unl. bus ride and RM150 (student: RM 100) to include unl. LRT and monorail ride. Frankly, 50% discount applies for RapidPass for bus only. shakehead.gif

In short, you apply for the rapidpass pelajar for 100 bucks.

Get the card, and you can travel everywhere by bus/lrt unlimited with that 100 bucks. The card is already 50% cheaper than others. After 30 days, you will have to top up 100 bucks again.

I hav got some questions,
i) is it must go to Pasar Seni LRT to apply the rapidpass pelajar, is that the only place to apply?
ii) So it includes the Sri Petaling/Ampang line LRT, what about the Kelana Jaya line(to KLCC one)?
iii) How to top up? And how do I check if it near expired date?

much appreciated for any answers reply.

3) I don't recall it having any expiry dates for Rapidpass Pelajar (that T&G card)
2) KJ line is also considered as a RapidKL LRT, so iinm it's usable.
1) According to the punjabi bus driver (he's the only non-Malay driver I've seen so far shocking.gif ) only place to apply is in Pasar Seni, not sure if it's LRT there though, it's somewhere near terminal, not opened on weekends the last time I checked.

good thing for rapidpass pelajar is:
even after your 30 days period expired, you still can enjoy 50% discount on bus fares, until your card expired. But not sure whether RM100 rapidpass will give you 50% discount on LRT and monorail after monthly top-up expired.
i am currently using rm50 rapidpass and never reload after last September.

Added: DO NOT APPLY THE RAPIDPASS PELAJAR during WEEKENDS because most probably you will end up queuing VERY VERY LONG, unless you had applied and want to take the rapidpass card then you may CUT QUEUE like a boss.

Yes, only Pasar Seni Putra LRT station.
ii) So it includes the Sri Petaling/Ampang line LRT, what about the Kelana Jaya line(to KLCC one)?
Its inclusive of STAR,PUTRA,BUS and MONORAIL.

You can top up at any Putra LRT stations. RM100 for 30 days. This pass needs to be renewed every year so you'll need to bring proof that you're still a student. Its for any students and not only 18 below.

much appreciated for any answers reply.

What will happen if i never renew rapidpass after 1 year?
Will my credit inside Touch'n go gone in vain or no more 50% discount only?

After the student pass expires after a year, the card will be a normal Touch n Go card. Your money will still be stored in it but you cant top up the student pass.

Yup, me myself registered it in 22 years old.
You will need a IC Photostat verified by someone of your campus Head of Department (HOD) to proof you are still a student.

as long as you're student, you can apply.

you just have to provide verified ic and student card.

Yes. But if you're using it for toll and parking, it'll work like TnG card. You'll have to reload money in it but at the same time, you can still use it for buses, LRT and monorails.

Thanks for the reply.

So does that means I pay only RM50 / RM100 and can used unlimited times for toll and parking?

No. For toll and parking, it's your own money. You have to put money inside in order to use for toll and parking.

RM50/RM100 monthly fee ONLY applies to LRT, Monorail, and bus.

want to ask, if when renewing the student rapidpass, need to present a certified copy of student ID every time? or the document is only needed when we first register?
