Hi guys,

i would like to ask , it is viable to apply job direct from jobstreet ?? Like sign up become jobstreet member and apply directly from there by sumbitting resume.... Or we should jot down their email address , and email them a cover letter+ resume together ???
I m quite confused actually..... some ads in jobstreet stated please fax/email/ send letter to this XXXXXX address..... then the others is please apply online ...... what do you guys think???

Normally I google the company I'm interested in. Then use their official website to apply.

Use both to increase your chance, the recipient on the other side will have more than 100+ applicant daily.
If u can tailor made your experiance to the job spec, u might have higher chance to get notice.
Jobstreet will sort the candidate accordingly as near as possible with the spec.
Been on the other side before as the recipient, i can say u cant play fair and honest, others will not. sweat.gif

who took the extra mile and call the company and ask around, and finally she know who is the hiring manager, she send me a personal email.

she din meet the spec but stand out from the crowd instantly.

Agree. The extra effort will get you noticed by potential employer. Thus standing a better chance than others.

most of the companies now use jobstreet, they prefer that rather than sending email to the company's website.

Guys above are right though. It wouldn't hurt to go the extra mile by using additional lines of communication to reach out to your employer. It'll show you have initiative, an important quality when on the job.

If the ads tell you to email them directly, then do as required. If it says apply online, then do as required. If in doubt, call the company and ask.

Whats so difficult? Follow instruction also dunno?

Also, one job ad in jobstreet, a company can be getting a thousand or more emails. Filtering it is tedious. But if you do STAND OUT by going the extra mile, you stand a better chance. Common sense, yes?

I've used jobstreet several times, put in maybe 100 applications, never got any replies.

I'm probably just not lazy enough, as per the culture of Malaysia, so I dont mesh well with most work environments. If you're willing to work weekends, holidays, drive hundreds of kilometers, show up on time, all the time, every time, do the job + extra work, increase sales, reduce spending, bring direction, follow the plan and be flexible, then you're doing too damn well and dont get considered. And it's hard for me to tone it down, because that's just who I am.

In my experience, you've got at least a chance if you know someone who introduces you into the company. Otherwise, for me at least, it just plain doesn't work.
