thanks alex! btw, I am now using compache (18% default) along with "use jit" and "enable surface dithering"

governors Smartassv2 min 245 max 729.

should i change any of that?

and also, any solution to strengthen my wifi? despite the said improvement for v1.4,i still felt my wifi signal is pretty weak. it disconnect often and take time to scan and reconnect back.

Yes, use JIT. As for dithering, if you enabled it, your graphic will be better (but it seems to me not much difference), but it'll slow down your performance.

Hotfix2 test2 is released. Try that. I tested it and it seems to be stronger than hotfix1 and hotfix2 test1.

My max wifi reading (using wifi analyser) :

1) hotfix 2 test 1 :  -54 dBm
2) hotfix 1          :  -42 dBm
3) hotfix 2 test 2 :  -41 dBm

That means hotifix2 test2 has the strongest wifi signals and strength.

EDIT : I use the same governor, but for CPU , 245MHz to 604MHz, except when playing games which lags at this setting, I set my max CPU to 729MHz and reset back to 604MHz after finished playing.

thanks again.
my max wifi signal using hotfix 1 is -62dBm (and that's beside my modem).Since psyke is fixing the wifi issue,i think i will wait for the stable hotfix 3 to be released xD. now already hotfix 2 test 3 smile.gif

Wipe dalvik-cache. This should solve it.

Flash v.1.6 hotfix5-test2: http://www.multiupload.com/WVKN6339BO

Ya, all v.1.6 hotfixes have bugs, except this hf5-test2. It's stable too.

Added on October 27, 2011, 2:27 pmCM v.1.7

For those who doesn't want to, or feel uncomfortable flashing this new version via the new CWM/Rom Manager, you can download the file here :

http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager/dev...ng%20Galaxy%205

Flash/install it as usual, i.e. install v.1.7 follow by gapps. It is recommended to wipe dalvik-cache to prevent problems.

NOTE : I'm on this v.1.7 since yesterday and the wifi signal is extremely strong. It's stable, fast and responsive too.

It is recommended to back-up your current rom first with CWM, just in case you don't like it or if there is any problem, you can always restore back.

Enjoy!  rclxms.gif  tongue.gif  rclxm9.gif  icon_idea.gif

v.1.7 is to be updated/flashed with CWM as now our G5 is supported in Rom Manager.
You have to go to Rom Manager to install the new rom.

Before that, you need to update your Rom Manager to version 4.7.0.5 and ClockWorkMod Recovery to version 5.0.2.6 using Rom Manager.

Or you can go to the link I have posted above.

For hotfix5-test2, I've also provided the link there.

So if i was previously using v1.6...i need to download clockworkmod recovery from market?( i can't find any cwm recovery in my apps) and when i check in the recovery, it show me 4.0.1.5.(how do i update it?)
My ROM Manager is up to date.
Any steps to take to perform the said update?(except update the rom manager and cwm recovery.)
