LOL, I was looking at that adcom photo in FB as well, but they took it down.
To be honest, I dont think tracing or "copy" an artwork will make you learn anything good. when painting an artwork, there are so many things you need to decide, the lights, the shadow, the reflected light, the surface, shiny, wet rough. If just copy, you dont even need to think about all those. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=234920 http://forums.sgcafe.com/complaints/135523...copy-paste.html https://www.facebook.com/spcontest/posts/140947835916001 This post has been edited by mclelun: May 10 2012, 11:21 PM |

yes, you choose an artist and copy his/her artstyle. see how he paint or draw.
not just "photocopy" the artwork |

QUOTE(vypur85 @ May 28 2012, 08:50 PM) That is just epic, mclelun! The angle for the rear building look a bit off. But I guess it just shows more 'craziness' in the art. Awesome! pretty much like what agito said, i try to do fish eye lens, but i guess it doesnt really work correctly. But I will just use a excuse that I never really learn proper drawing method, u know, all this horizon line thing. |

I sketch this artwork around 2 weeks ago after I dream about it. I am not joking , I really dream about an artwork.how long it takes u to complete this whole thing? love the detail. =) good job btw, hold on a second. u are color blind? but...seriously bro? i feel so bad nowwwww then most of the tracing and coloring was done last weekend. so, i say it is probably around 2 to 3 days. yes, I am really colorblind, traffic light green i see as white, some green color on crayon i see as human skin color. blue , purple is very similar to me... etc |

I worked as a actionscripter/web developer last time. doing website, flash games etc. mainly programming stuff with art/design elements. but nowadays i did quite a lot of different things, cdrom project, converting web design from psd to css. after effects stuff... etc, job scope is just too wide to describe. |

![]() how about some random animation for your slow monday This is just a test animation. It is not the actual animation I want to do with this model, so the directing/story might be a bit random. watch the animation in my vimeo page https://vimeo.com/46173468 |

QUOTE(Adamiquesce @ Jul 27 2012, 04:34 AM) wow whats this that 2d artwork is base on a Japanese artist music video. You can google "ponponpon" for it. Some people might find it abit annoying though.weird thing going on with that fat makcik lol and yeah I forgot to view this thats so awesome brooooo...how did u do that u can do anything...Im jelly...u are a versatile designer thats a legit animation right there..I dont care about the floating hand...its just awesome and feel more awesome when I think how did u find such random funny thai song Im still curious whats this fat guy all about...lol...u are doing animation anytime soon? About that 3d fatguy, I have a plan on doing an animation for him. The objective of this animation is to be a learning process for me. After I have equip myself with better skill on animation, I could proceed to do "high concept" story. I have this idea on a sci-fi story, but my skill level not enough to handle it on my own yet. More over, after doing so many 2d artwork, I would like to see my characters to be animate too. |

QUOTE(Adamiquesce @ Jul 27 2012, 01:08 PM) yaya I remember that song hahaaha... well i think i there are similarities in all the work in did, that why I can learn all the different softwares. I believe anyone can do this too. not just meso how did u animate so expertly? where did u learn it?U could work as an animator liao for animation, it is about keyframe and inbetween. even in manual traditional animation, lead animator will do the keyframe, and the junior will do the inbetween. Keyframe in wikipedia I learn all this concept while doing Flash game, flash banner. Flash itself is a timeline layer based software tools. you put keyframe for your asset and the software will animate the inbetween. for aftereffects, it is also timeline layer based. same thing, u put keyframe to animate. so, I "learn" aftereffects pretty quick. But aftereffects is bitmap base, unlike Flash which is vector base. and aftereffects have filters like in photoshop, so your photoshop filters skill will put into good use here. Blender3D or any other 3d software. same concept. just need to put in the keyframe. So in alot of time, the keyframe or key pose is very important for good animation. my henshin hero test animation look good, because I can reference the pose base on real masked rider youtube video. You migh ask how about modeling? dont be suprise, it is the same concept as 2d vector art, instead of moving your "points" in 2d, you move it in 3d space. but ofcourse, there are more depth/details in modelling 3d stuff. there is another way of modeling, which is digital sculpting. usually is use for more natural and realistic stuff. Most ppl will use zbrush for it. |
