Chelsea bus was so and so, main problem was Barca lacked inspiration on the night. It was like watching arsenal, thousands of passes with no clear end. Inability to adapt led to their downfall.

May I suggest, a physical forward? In the likes of marouane fellaini perhaps? Disrupt opposition defense when high balls pumped in the area. Would have been very effective.

And a proper traditional defender while they're at it. 3 breakaway goals in a week due to bad marking and lack of pace.

Doh. Actually all I see are you Chelsea fans acting so defensive about your...defensive game haha! Why don't just let the Catalans have their say. Not as if you weren't playing defensively right? You won anyways.

So why go around trying to justify it la. Are you ashamed of it? Make up your mind la. It's as if you're trying to claim that *gasp* you are in fact better in terms of skill than barca.

WhO the one butthurt I wonder. :/

Haha, really. Why you guys like that dey? So defensive for what? And I'm not even barca. If I barca habis lo bang

Added on April 26, 2012, 9:38 amPing pang, from what I saw it wasn't really Chelsea's gameplan to bus. They were just playing like they do until the king of England decided to surprise buttsecks Sanchez. Then a 747 suddenly landed in front of their goal.

its funny when you posted in both thread and igniting something to a rather calm audience

Yeah, just a day in the life I guess.

People take this way too seriously, until all objectivity is lost. I mean, there was nothing wrong with the match. One team defending for their life's worth, the other lacking inspiration for breakthrough. Happens every week, why the butthurt. Really. :-/

katnl,
When Chelsea played their earlier matches, we don't see Chelsea plays the way they played against Barca.
Well, it was di Mattoe's idea to play this way. It was used by many other teams in previous years also, but of course Barca vs Chelsea in UCL semis is a "Big match" where lots of people will think Barca will steam-rolled Chelsae (with their ageing players) but of course, with the right tactic (even lots of pundits may dislike it) Chelsea prevails..
*
Seems very Chelsea to me, the way they play before the sending off. After that, what can I say. Perfectly legit, no problems with it no sir.

And the red card and the penalty is very obvious you see. Ref is no issue there. Got it spot on! Yet.......10 man......10 man vs 11 man over more than 60 minutes.
*
Oh boy, rees my man. Nao you just being bad. Why the sarcasm and obvious baiting for poor barca? Why does the fan of the winning team insist on justifying the win? Why so much butthurt?

I guess u mistaken the word butthurtism here, i think u mistaken with the word "pride beating defending champion"?
*
That's not pride man. You're a very confused person.

Chelsea fans are probably joyful in their miraculous "win", against a team that are not only world champions but would supposedly annihilate them at camp nou.

Barcelona fans may feel begrudged at the loss, complaining of tactics used against them when they know deep inside they have no one to blame but themselves.

So why is a Chelsea fan still justifying the win and slinging mud at the other team? What is there to justify really? Why are you butthurt when you won? Nobody can begrudge Chelsea their victory.

Tak paham la Gua mentality fans ini.

your tl;dr post provide nothing but mere hatred towards Chelsea's victory. just accept the defeat like a men, like Pep, like all the Barca players bar Cesc. will ya?
*
Aduh, tak abis abis Chelsea fans ni. No matter what I say, they can't and won't read. All they can think is how to defend their team against the supposed sour grape barca fans.

Come on lah, if you got nothing to rebutt my point then diam saja jangan macam anjing ok? Nothing also bark bark.

face the fact that u play defensively and won.

That's been my point all along, no use talking to these so called fans. No objectivity one, and it seems they're so butthurt even if they won? Wtf is up with that man.

Terry is a thug, always have been. Jingoistic idiot. Thats probably why he's a hero to the Chelsea firm. Thuggish lot, them

come on man, we all know chelsea park the bus right in the first leg. nod.gif
they park the bus and they won. even though i dont like it, but a win is still a win. sweat.gif
chelsea are in the final and not barca, cry.gif
and you cant avoid the fact that chelsea Park The Bus in both leg. doh.gif
*
Going with pokwang here. They did not actually park any bus, only after thugry was sent off. Then a 747 came and parked in the Chelsea goal.

If you watch Chelsea play, you should know that's how they play mostly.

I heard  g.balague saying on Espnnews that Pep will take a sabbatical and return. If this is true it wouldnt be fair to the incoming coach knowing that he will be gone after a year.

But I highly doubt that this is what Pep wants.

I thought the press conference was at 11am local time so rushed home.
Was so pissed that I went to a buffet at Bukit Bintang so late. Wanted to leave before 4pm to beat the traffic but only arrived there at 3.30pm.

Suddenly the press conference is AFTER the training session, not directly after Pep announces it to the players in the morning.

In that case, I think Pep will stay.
I don't think that he the players would want to train after hearing the bad news because apparently he told them his decision the first thing in the morning.

----------

I hope Barcastuff will share a link to the press conference.
Although I won’t understand what they will be saying but if

1) Pep leaves – people become hysterical and start crying
2) Pep renews – people cheering and clapping

Best thing is for Pep to stay one more year but take AVB or Bielsa (dont think he wants to be a no.2 though) or whoever it is as no.2 to replace Tito so that it will be a smooth succession plan next season.

I had this in mind after thinking about Pep as no.2 for SAF rumors a few years back and also how La Lakers handled Phil Jackson’s health problems in the past.

I dont think he is a dirty player or anything but I dont understand how he say that it looks bad on tv and how he is not that kind of player.
Geez, it is so clear that he kneed Alexis. Nobody is accusing him of being a serial offender laugh.gif
But he was involved in a similar incident with Alexis in the 1st leg at Stamford Bridge too.
But I think that one was an accident.
*
Terry has always been a thug at heart, even when he was young in the fracas with Jody Morris. He's a typical jingoistic Englishman, what more can I say. If you thought the west ham firm was bad...

They parked the bus from the first minute on both legs.
After Terry was sent off, Chelsea had to score but they still didn't differ much.

And after Iniesta scored, I thought they had to open up but there was hardly any need for that because
Ramires scored in the injury time.

Perhaps if Ramires had not scored, we would;ve seen Chelsea open up in the 2nd half.
No idea about that. Never heard any on field dirty play from Terry before.

Added on April 28, 2012, 1:50 pm

He wasn't on anyone's mind because he was thought to be one of the reasons for Pep to quit
cause Pep said before that he will quit if Tito quits but in the end, he is the one quitting first smile.gif

I have a feeling that he might come back soon.
2 seasons maybe.

Dang. I wish he would've done what Arsene Wenger wanted him to do.
*
didn't catch the first leg, but no they didnt start out parking the bus in the 2nd leg. as in what pokwang mentioned, you shouldn't confuse a defensive tactic with parking the bus. chelsea and a lot of english teams and maybe the whole seria A (lulz) play in that way, what they term counter attacking football. it's only when they really retreated into their shell, putting the whole team behind the ball is what we'd term parking the bus.

katnl, Obviously chelsea parked the bus from the very first minute. You can see 4-5-1 formation, 5 of the midfield staying behind to defend. Even the football pundits said so.  9 players stay to defend.
*
Hm, this again. You don't watch English football much I guess? You cant simply accuse any team playing defensively of parking the bus. It's different things

Don't think so. Pep seems extremely burned out by the barca stint. Disillusioned almost with football

Obviously you lot have been spoiled by tiki taka, any team defending is termed parking the bus.

Chelsea was quite open before the red, with the exception that they were pinned a lot due to barca's possession. They tried to win the ball, defended against barca as normal. I repeat, as normal. This is how Chelsea plays, as do most English teams. Not every team has a xavi/iniesta/messi triumvirate.

So any team who has more than half the team pressing when attacked is parking the bus? Any team who has a naturally defensive mindset is parking the bus? Like that who want to watch epl or seria anymore?

You need to get it in your heads la. Defensive is not parking the bus. When Chelsea throws 5-6 players in the box, just waiting to soak up the attacks with no intention at all to win the ball or actually play football, THAT is a bus.

So u're trying the football pundits also wrong kah? tongue.gif

Ok, what is matryze explain if its parking the bus or not?
*
The pundits weren't wrong, Chelsea came with a defensive mindset. Which is how they always approach big sides. When did the pundit say anything about bus?

apparently, a lot of Barcelona fans have never seen a defensive team. everything also park the bus to them. =/

Ironic that the term was made popular by Jose. maybe we should ask Jose what he meant.

park the bus
-defending by crowding the area around penalty box
-counter attack if possible
-use a deep defensive line

that's what "park the bus" means
*
I say you're wrong. my impression is that a team parking the bus would have no intention to play. instead, they just pack the box with players and stop anything from coming in.

your park the bus is too liberal, it applies to how most english teams play.

if you want a proper definition, ask Jose. he coined the term.
