Learn how to spell their names people. It's one thing to not able to spell Kuszczak, but come on, "Cleverly" even after all the impressive performances in the friendlies and even 4 competitive matches?

Sir Alex ponders Pogba debut

QUOTE
Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to hand Paul Pogba a first-team debut in the Carling Cup and will consider several other promising reserves for the trip to Leeds.

The boss plans to integrate Pogba into his squad this term after he had a taste of senior action in Paul Scholes' testimonial, coming as a substitute for the retiring legend.

"Pogba's in the first-team training set-up now," he told Inside United when asked how much he planned to use the France Under-19 midfielder. "So that's the first step.

"After that, it'll likely depend on when we decide to make changes. He'll probably be involved in the League Cup and that'll be his chance to establish himself in the squad."

Pogba, speaking to French magazine 10 Foot whilst away on international duty, feels he is getting closer to realising a dream of playing at the top level.

"Every day I’m aiming for the first team," he stressed. "Sir Alex gave me confidence by picking me for the pre-season game against Marseille in August. So I know I’m on the right track.

"Everyone at the club is great – they look after young players well. We have a laugh and there’s a special atmosphere."

When asked by Inside United about any other youngsters who could be blooded at Elland Road, the boss name-checked five reserve-teamers although the high-profile nature of the draw may end up calling for a more senior starting XI.

"There are a few players who have done well," Sir Alex replied, speaking before the Reds came out of the hat to travel to Yorkshire.

"Will and Michael Keane, Ezekiel Fryers, Larnell Cole, Jesse Lingard - these boys are all good, young players who are making the right progress."

Smalling targets long stay

QUOTE
Chris Smalling says he wants to stay at Old Trafford for life after making a real impact since joining from Fulham last year.

The defender has adapted superbly to playing right-back and looked comfortable in the position in his first two England appearances over the past few days.

After settling in to life in Manchester, the Londoner would relish remaining at the club for the rest of his career, even though he's still only 21.

In an exclusive interview with Inside United, Smalling said: "I don’t look too far ahead but I hope I can really get an established career and hopefully stay here for the rest of my life.

"I want to get more and more games as it goes on because I really feel part of this club. I’m really enjoying my football at the minute. The manager’s got full faith in me and I want to reward that in the years to come."

The shrewd signing appreciates he is still building on his experience despite an exceptional start to the new season.

"It’s about kicking on when you get chances, like I managed to last year," he explained. "I’m starting to feel like I really belong here and, the more games I get, the better player I’ll be."

Now a fully-fledged member of Fabio Capello's squad ahead of Euro 2012, there is much for Smalling to look forward to in the coming year after making rapid strides in top-level football.
