Good to hear the news coming out that Tom Cleverley hasn't broken his foot. Lets hope he makes a speedy recovery.

So does it means that he will not be out for 3 months??

Updated 11 September, 15:45

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Tom Cleverley will spend the next four weeks on the sidelines after limping out of United's win at Bolton on Saturday.

It was feared the midfielder, who has started the campaign in fine form, had broken a bone in his foot after feeling the full force of a Kevin Davies tackle just before Javier Hernandez's opener at the Reebok.

But the boss told ManUtd.com on Sunday that Cleverley has suffered ligament damage to his foot rather than a fracture.

The manager also said the club's medical team would assess second half knocks to Patrice Evra and Jonny Evans, ahead of the Reds' Champions League opening group game against Benfica in Lisbon.

"We'll see them on Sunday," he told MUTV. "Jonny is doubtful for Wednesday - he got a knee in the hip in the second half which was pretty painful, while Patrice got a kick on the kneecap. We'll have a look at them on Sunday - it's too early to say [how serious the injuries are]."

berba still not getting any games huh.. missed the weekend game, great to know rooney's so on form! IMHO, the best pairing upfront since last season is rooney-chica. Berba wont be getting enough games if welbeck is fit =/

perhaps its time to rest Anderson, unleash Fletcher. Rooney is the key player, but i fancy to resting him (and Hernandez) and give chance to Berbatov and Owen. we have depth on wingers, play Park, and ill give minutes to Valencia, if he fit.

defenders, i dont think we have much option. just the play the best available. Ferdinand on the bench, if we have an extra defenders.

wholesome changes probably affect the result, but TBH ill take a draw if its meant no fresh injury to players. plus, Benfica are 2nd strongest team in the group. draw away is a good result. and the benchwarmers are also an outstanding group players. if they play their games, its good enough to score the 3 points.

Fletcher--Smalling--Jones--Fabio

Valencia--Carrick--Giggs--Park

Rooney --Berb/chicharito/owen

Ando started every game for us so far. But since its only the start of the season, it shudnt be tat much of an issue. Was he involved in the internationals last week? park-carrick-giggs/ando-nani in midfield for me. Rooney could do with a bit of resting tho. With his history, we dont want to overplay him too much, but be it saf/england managers, he never got subbed off!

ya it still early of the season.. i think its more important to carry the momentum ahead ski game. ando-carrick. young he was sub so probably will start. park on the other side.. need to make him ready for the big game. rooney hv to start with hernandez. then maybe could sub off either ones with berba. think fletcher might hv some minutes of play too

Seems like SAF will play the old heads against Benfica reading what he said saying Basel at home will be a better place to blood them in. Easy decision to make since cleverley and welbeck are injured. Young and Jones might not be involved as well since its a new experience for them in the CL. SAF said Benfica play 3 in the middle..wonder how we'll line up.
