Viewsonic's history in CRT/LCD monitor is even longer than LG & Samsung. They WERE the largest manufacturer in US. My tiny 15" Viewsonic LCD purchased on Year 2001 is still going strong, now only had 4-5 dead pixels on the corner.

So my vote goes to Viewsonic.

IPS had better color reproduction and able to show actual 24-bit (16 million) color while the current TN panel is only capable to show 18-bit (262k).
IPS had wider viewing angle.

But...

Unless you are putting the TN and IPS panel side by side, you won't feel the difference.
I am always staying at the screen at 90 deg. at most 60-120 deg. so the wider view had no effect on me.
I am not too cheesy about red being a true red and a not-too red red.
Bottom word, if you see the screen and feel comfortable about it, then it does its job.
