I tried to post at Hardware question section, but no one reply.... Any sifu here can help me??
Dear all forumers...
Currently I got a project which required to connect the 2 LCD and the LCD ONLY have the DVI connector. The length of the slave LCD about 20 meter long and I also require 1 DVI splitter to connect the LCD.... I had tried to search the 20m DVI cable and DVI splitter, but cant get it at most of the store.
My questions are below:
1. Is anyone can advise where can buy the long DVI cable and DVI splitter?
2. If the 1st question is NO, then is it possible to buy the DVI to HDMI cable (from source) and use the HDMI splitter to connect 2 HDMI to DVI cables (to both LCD)? rclxub.gif
If not, any other comment about this?
Thank You~~~~

QUOTE(BeastX @ Sep 1 2011, 09:17 AM) Long DVI cables are rare... but not HDMI.... I believe I bought a 20m HDMI around RM100 (or less, cannot recall). DVI splitter unlike VGA spitter, are rare and expensive, example: http://sewelldirect.com/gefendvisplitter.aspIt's much cheaper to run 2 (20m) HDMI cables from a dual DVI/HDMI graphics card and clone the display outputs. Thanks for reply... Based on your suggestion, I can't mod the hardware, It only provide DVI output. So, do you think my second question on top is possible to work out? Means, use DVI to HDMI cable and connect it to HDMI switch, then split 2 HDMI cable and convert to DVI for LCD.

QUOTE(BeastX @ Sep 1 2011, 07:50 PM) For Emphasis: A HDMI switch ... switches from one output to another, it does not split (clone) the signal for 2 LCDs, one LCD will get the signal @ any given time. As mentioned: Digital spliters are expensive. HDMI/DVI switches are available from RM50 to 80. A Switch is not a Spliter.... Do you want a Switch or Spliter? SL-DVI and HDMI is essentially the same you just need adapters (analogy USB and mini-USB, DP and Mini-DP). Opps.. Sorry, my mistake. What I mean is HDMI splitter. So, I can try the method i posted? Thank You!

QUOTE(BeastX @ Sep 2 2011, 09:41 AM) Yes... but far more economical to run 2 cables instead... SL-DVI or HDMI is just adapter differences. Yeah... thanks for your comment, will get the real stuff to to try out. Thanks...
