guys..any idea when will dell do promotion like early november?damn i miss it..plan to get u2711

My little advice...better get some more fund and go for 30 inch.
Most who bought 27 inch regret that they didnt go straight to 30 inch from the start.

guys, i have a question. how do i connect my ps3 to the new dell ultrasharp U2312HM since it has no hdmi connection??

Get a hdmi to dvi cable.Other says you can use hdmi to dvi converter, but there are some reported cases that it doesnt work.
So, imo better go safer route with the specific cable.

The U2412M has lesser input lag compared to the U2410 though. Anyways, most gamers who are looking for an IPS model swear by the U2410. If you're doing serious photography, the U2410 is the way to go for the best colour offered.

Ya.If you are gaming on the u2410, make sure to switch to "gaming mode".Will make it bearable somehow.
This also applies if you watch action movies.

The problems are mostly with fast motion pictures which gets blurry.

Wow.IPS panel kena bash by Shufflerz. tongue.gif

My personal opinion, once you tried IPS panel, you can see how pale TN panel in comparison.
And you could only get the same color accuracy with really really high end lcd tv which cost rm10k and above, and even then, its still not as good as IPS.

To those that are buying new monitors, if you never tried IPS yet, you wont regret it.
You will know colors as they are supposed to look like.

And dont be scared to buy cos its notorious reputation of "not good for gaming".Those only apply for really ancient IPS with ghosting that last for 1 sec...lolz.
In truth, only a small percentage of ppl are able to discern input lag and ghosting with current IPS.Most ppl dont even notice them.
AND ghosting only applies with fast motion. The only fast motion in fps is when doing fast turns, and with ghosting, you'll get dizzy, thats all.

Out of my whole family and friends that watch action movies and play games using my u2410, only I get dizzy if the game mode is not turned on.

Trust me, game mode will get the job done in improving response time and input lag.
Sometimes, the so called input lag are from the games themselves. You could see yourself here (search for input lag)
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2410.htm
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalf...s-battlefield-3

The max input lag for u2410, standard mode, is 40ms, and the fastest fps there is, MW3 is 50ms.
Did you see there? The fastest fps this gen also slower than the supposedly "high" input lag monitor.
You dont even need to turn on game mode if you experience no ghosting.

You can check the input lag of monitors here, fairly reliable
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/
For games, you can google for digital foundry articles by Eurogamer, they usually do input lag tests.
You can try searching for input lag for games that you play and compare them to the monitors youre gonna buy.
Youre in the okay if the said monitor game mode max input lag < the game youre playing's input lag.

iirc, 50ms = 3 frames.
Most ppl cant even discern the lag between MW3 50ms and BF3 116ms (which is about 3 frames) sweat.gif
