hello mates, i am intending to set two 23" screens(1920x1080) together, with a total resolution of 3840x1080. does this mean i need a graphic card that can support that amount of resolution in the first place?
i apologize if this is really a basic knowledge thing, as i am really a newbie in these kind of things.
many thanks smile.gif

does ur GC has 2 output ports? if so, what do u intend to use the 2 monitors for? also, mind telling us what is ur GC?

my gc is no where near recent i think, its an asus gts250 1gb. yes it has, it has 1vga, dvi and hdmi.
well i do 3d modelling/animation, illustration and some photography, so yea. but not games tho.

p.s : yes, totally wrong card for 3d render, thanks to the shop and my ignorance at that time to leave it to them.

You should be able to connect one to DVI, and another to HDMI.

yea, initially i thought i should go with the vga, but my pal told me not to go with vga as the performance of the screen will go down, so i will go with the hdmi.
however, i am still not clear on what needs to be done once i get my things hooked up.
like softwares and stuff

Once everything is hooked up, you should be able to enable extended desktop in Nvidia's control panel. Simple as that biggrin.gif

With ATI cards, you can power more than 3 monitors with one card. However, I'm not too sure with Nvidia as I haven't used one for a while.

You *may* not be able to use DVI & HDMI at the same time and may need to resort to using DVI + VGA, or HDMI + VGA. This is especially true with certain motherboard's IGP as they tie the digital output together and only one connection can be used at one time.

thats cool, nice and simple.

thanks for the heads up, i did some searching around after reading your post, and apparently, nvidia cards can only support 2 screens at once even tho 3 ports were given, either "dvi + vga", "vga + hdmi" , "hdmi + dvi".
hopefully it would be the same with my case, fingers crossed. smile.gif
