Some ridiculous comments on Carroll IMO. Sure, he's not at his best but if you've seen him play for Newcastle, you'll note that he does have talent. What hasn't he settled into life at Anfield? Who knows? Could be the pressure from having a huge price tag over your head. Could be he's adjusting to King Kenny's style of play. The thing is, the new season is just 6 games old which is a little too soon to consider drastic measures like loaning him out  blink.gif . I don't think he had a bad game last night. He tried to turn creator and hit a wonderful pass across goal for Suarez. He had one header saved by Hennessy and another that cannoned off the post. He was perhaps a little over ambitious at the end but nonetheless, showed some good close control. I don't see how he had a bad game last night.

Let's get some perspective shall we? Surely some of you didn't expect the likes of Adam to be the same player Xabi was, or Henderson to instantly turn into a Steven Gerrard? I have to admit that I don't think Henderson has done well since joining but I also do consider that he's even younger than Martin Kelly at the moment and what King Kenny sees is potential so don't expect him to be world class all of a sudden. Adam is only in his 2nd season in the top flight and he joined from Blackpool, not Real Madrid so we shouldn't expect miracles out of him.
*
Totally agree with the above, and to Simplify, he had his best game of the season for us (thus far). His work rate were good from start to finish, tracking back to defend on Wolves set pieces late in the game, and even ended up two rows deep into the Kop after chasing down and keeping a wayward cross in play in the 73rd.

He is beginning to show signs of an understanding with Suárez, with the pair constantly looked for and found each other, although there remains some uncertainty at times. Even so, some pundits makes the astute observation that his movement is not yet up to par. On crosses he’s already in the position that he wants to end up in, rather than moving defenders around to create space for himself in that final position

Just to heat things up for the Merseyside derby. Look at this fantastic video

Dirk Kuyt is the next person voicing out his dissatisfaction. He is unhappy not to be included in the starting 11 thou he deserved it.

Media is just exaggerating, he could have said "i'm disappointed to be not on the starting 11" instead "i'm disappointed with Kenny's decision".
We will have Kuyt on starting lineup on derby day, cos he has the ability to score. Suarez definitely need to control his temper to avoid automatic suspension. I guess that what has concerned Kenny most and not his fitness or ability to play 90 mins or even 95mins

Read this :- Why Dirk Kuyt Should Start in the Merseyside Derby

For years now Dirk Kuyt has been the unrelenting, run-till-he-dies epitome of all that Liverpool stands for as a player. His heart is on his sleeve in every match for the Reds and as the faithful fans learned last year once again he is clutch when the chips are down. Kuyt emerged as the unlikely leading scorer for the Reds last season following the sale of Fernando Torres to Chelsea. The arrival of Andy Carroll saw the Geordie resigned to the treatment table for much of his first months, and Luis Suarez became the primary partner of Kuyt upfront.

After the loss of Steven Gerrard to injury in March, it became all about whether or not Kuyt could produce enough for the Reds upfront. He most certainly remembered how to score from his days in the Eredivisie and put it to use, nearly lifting the Reds into the Europa League. However, this season he has been largely on the fringe of the first team. New signings Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson have seen the 31-year-old veteran pushed down the pecking order. He still has found ways ton contribute as his goal against Brighton & Hove Albion proved to be the difference last week in the Carling Cup.

Now the Reds have to look forward. Other than two wins to end the month of September, there has been little to be thankful for as far as results this month. The losses to both Stoke City and Tottenham were hard to take. Gerrard's return has to be the biggest boost so far and it could not have happened a weekend too soon. Liverpool now stare down the first Merseyside Derby of the season this coming weekend at Goodison Park against rivals Everton. The "friendly derby", as called for the amount of family ties that seem to cross paths between the clubs, is nothing of the sort and has only grown more heated of a rivalry in the last decade.
Dirk Kuyt has emerged as a go-to guy for the Derby in recent seasons and should be looked at as no less than such this season and this coming match.

He has scored a goal in the last three Derby days he has participated. Before that, he had a brace and an assist between the two Derbies of the 2007-08 season. In total he has five goals and one assist in 11 games against Everton.
With his record for the past two seasons, it is a lock that Kuyt should make the starting lineup not only for his goal-scoring exploits, but also because he is guaranteed to run Leighton Baines to death. The matchup with Baines will be one of the toughest of the night and Kuyt has the mental toughness to get the job done. Jordan Henderson has dipped in form over the month and it is about time the veteran got his place back for at least this match.

Craig Bellamy would be a good option as well, but the fact that Kuyt knows all about this Derby and has been the Reds' hero more than once means he deserves the chance to get at the Blues once again

In total 10 yellow cards if remember correctly. With 2 red cards thus far. Skrtel & Adam.
Suarez , Charlie Adam , Carroll with 2 yellows each. Carragher & Coates should have pocketed 1 each (Coates during WHL outing)

I won't be around tomorrow and thought I'd post this today. Tomorrow will mark the 30th anniversary of Bill Shankly's death, a sad sad day for any Kopite. Here's an interview with Karen Gill, his granddaughter.
Hope you guys carry on with more tributes and postings on Shankly tomorrow.
May his soul rest in peace.

One of my favorite Shankly quotes "There's only two teams in the whole of Liverpool; Liverpool and Liverpool Reserves"

happy birthday, Shankly.

Guys, I think even though we're the forumers, I think its probably about time we take one step further to help do something ala the times where we all would meet up or something like that. Like for Hillsborough, or for Heysel, or the occasions that matter.

I think its also important having the presence, I mean...

gwargh, i can't get my thoughts through. anyone on the same wavelength i am in? probably could explain / expand better.

I second your thought. I'm in!

Luis Suarez was the villain in the eye of every Everton after getting Rodwell sent off , in a somehow rather unethical decision from Martin Atkinson. I'd looked back on the replay and he deserve, probably not more than a yellow, to be honest.

The turning point meant to be the penalty rewarded for the foul on Suarez. Kuyt couldn't convert that into a goal. He missed!. It's was predictable for Howard, he couldn't save the day for Everton when we beat them with the similar scoreline back in Oct 2007. It was easy for him. First class save it was! I couldn't agree with some on the comments of the performances on the new comers. Adam was fairly good in the 1st half. So did Enrique, Lucas, Suarez, Downing. Carroll had a decent game, and applauds for opening the Premier League goal account.

We had almost 65%-70% possession throughout the match, which is really impressive after the win against Wolves last weekend. This is better from Liverpool. Saha were dangerous at times but couldn't give much more threat during 2nd half.Bellamy & Gerrard came on to give extra boost for the team and Gerrard's pass and a cross from Enrique converted the first goal , Carroll it was. Brilliant , absolutely brilliant play from the Captain.

In short, the performances were far better from the game at Anfield last week. We should keep the current form and momentum against the S*ums on the 15th.

Happy weekend for all Reds fan. YNWA !
