When you speak like this,the younger generation are turned off from your team.Then it's no wonder why they are opting for chelsea,arsenal and manu.I didnt say we would win the league,if u read my post before the game,i was lowering down expectations.Please dont preach the ''i m a better fan than you'' attitude.It stinks.

There was nothing new in what i saw,everything same to what everyone witnessed in 08-09 season.I still remember,the draw with stoke at anfield was one the reasons why we lost the league.Stoke's style is set that way.You cant change that.They play like that all the time.Dont give excuses that you are playing against 10men defence.If no top four team comes away with a win from stoke then i will apologise to you.You all want us to be the in the top four.I say this result is not good enough.What separates the top four and the rest is being a able to scrap a result even when you have a off day.Sorry to say liverpool are still not that stage yet,let alone be champions.

I'm angry that Poulsen, Cole and Konchesky all left. Now we've got to blame Carragher again whenever lady luck looks the other way.

Going through the sports section of the Star each day has proved to be a frustrating experience. Day after day I read mancs having a go at us which I guess should be expected. I held back my urge to respond to the SMS entries until I came across and article today written by a seasoned 37 yr old manc. I sent this in response. Hope it gets published.

I read with much amusement your column in The Star (Sept 14). Let me be clear: I have been a Manchester United fan for the past 28 years (I’m 37 now).

I wouldn’t claim to be a hardcore Red Devil fan. For me, those who claim to be hardcore fans simply imply that they are not.

First of all, hats off for taking the defeat on the chin. Unlike the so-called “King” Kenny, you chose to accept the defeat at Stoke gracefully. I’m sure you have lost some fans in the process.

But I also read with much more amusement the jibes aimed squarely at Alex Ferguson. I mean, which Liverpool fan won’t envy the fact that their fiercest rival have been doing so great for the past decade or so.

Especially since they have knocked Liverpool off their perch.

If aiming jibes at Alex will heal the pains and sufferings, by all means, please do so. We’ll be more than happy to help. We know it’s a hard pill to swallow, but true fans will accept it as it is and give their full backing to their beloved team.

In change-management, they are five stages: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.

Most (if not all) Liverpool fans, unfortunately, are still living in denial. This is evident from reading their fans’ letters, SMS messages, blogs and so much more. They believe that Liverpool are still a powerhouse in the English Premier League.

They believe that Liverpool still belong in the elite group of Champions League. They believe Liverpool will finally win the league “next season”. They believe that beating Manchester United at Anfield is enough to make their season glitter. They just “believe”.

After 20 years, most Liverpool fans are almost a sorry sight. Deeply bruised and living in the past.

Some have accepted the fact and have carried on with their lives. The big majority, however, continue to “believe”.

I doubt this letter will make it to any of The Star’s column or even mentioned by you in your “Sport-Light” column, but I do sincerely wish Liverpool all the best in their ever-lasting quest to win back the coveted league title.

Now, it is time to wake up. It’s just a bad dream. A really, really bad dream.

aquilani loaned out to milan with the option to  be bought. so i think he's a goner. and regarding meireles case, i read in multiple liverpool site, it says that meireles handed it transfer request because the current owner doesn't honor the agreement meireles made with the previous owner regarding the salary increment. i know the current owner doesn't have to honor the agreement since they're not the one who made it, but why so stingy? just because meireles is not young anymore and he's not english, and the current owners' policy prefers english and young?

Added on September 19, 2011, 10:26 amand some more, what's with the policy of selling players just because they want to go out? it made the club look weak, on the contrary. look what fergie did with ronaldo a few years back, when ronaldo was ranting he wants to go to real madrid and fergie said he'd rather ronaldo rot on the bench than letting him go. and tottenham's refusal to let modric go. both these 2 players then having no chance but to play good for their team, or risk being rotted on the bench.

And you guys last time doesn't agree with Rafa's rotation...

I think our defeat at stoke could now be excused as i said we would have to wait till the top teams have played there.

I doubt there will be any top team that comes away from there with three points easily.

Credit to stoke though they played really well even in the last minutes when usually united are pilling on the pressure on the opponents like crazy.

Trust me.. If KD let 55m duo englishmen out of starting eleven, we can even fight for the trophy!

Today should be a happy day for me. My colleagues and I will be leaving for Janda Baik soon for our team building exercise.
