Lol yeah. Anyways, I hope Liverpool can find a way to break Stoke's defense the next time they meet. Can't wait for next week's game.
*
cant remember 100% but Spurs right? they just won so it will be a fiery encounter...
i am always looking forward to beat them...we've not been doing well against them lately...

Poor guy was only brought on for the last 20 minutes. His asset is pace but by that time, Stoke already had 10 men behind the ball trying not to concede so Bellamy had no space to run into. Also, being stuck on the left wing couldn't have been to his liking.
*
both he and Suarez are just waiting to burst in flames..especially Suarez...so up for it....
..if KD can harness their passion to playing their best for Liverpool...we'll reap tons of benefits..

if not, we might end up those 2 fighting each other on the pitch..!

Yeah about the 10 men thingy as well. Liverpool had many chances to get the ball in though midfield but stopped in the middle to back pass and passed it to the wing..  By the time they cross all the defenders were already there. What's up with that man? Seriously. I rage'd
*
that is why I'm still disappointed we loaned out Aquilani...he would probably have the guile and vision to link up with Suarez and fool the Stoke defence..

but then...no one us knows the real story behind him leaving it so we just need to believe it was the best decision for the club

just saw spurs highlights and both goals were quite good to be truth.Their midfield 4 is definitely better than us though. bale-modric-parker-lennon/kranjcar.

and they have gotten themselves a proven goalscorer in adebayor as well..

i was about the say the same thing...yes i would love to beat them too but they are a good team. i wasnt happy when they bought Parker ...

I can say Liverpool back to old syndrome which i refer to 'Inconsistency'

to win EPL, you need to collect full pts for every game as possible eventhough it's an ugly win. Doesnt matter, it's referee decision, defensive play by opponent, penalty kick, or international friendly.. every team must fully utilize every mins of the game.

Plus with new players come in, such as carroll, bellamy, downing, KD should get enough supply of different game plan.

Sorry KD, I'm not on your side again this time. U'r a legend but Liverpool still need that EPL throphy this season. It's still early but hey last season i remember we said the same thing also.

Looking forward for next match.

Liverpool need the EPL every season mate...

.......but at this point, we'll be mad to claim we're title challengers...even before season start, the word was rebuilding...yah i know..we've been saying that for years...but what to do? we got new owners, changed 2 managers in 2 seasons, bought in heap of players and shipped out quite a number...so its a simple fact..we're doing it all over again....

Inconsistency is playing well one match and playing badly the other....i thought we played well last night....the only difference was we didnt get the score line we wanted..sure...there were mistakes here and there..but i've seen how we lost to the Stokes and Sunderland before....poor display, no chances...but last night was different...we had the chances..but we were not clinical enough...

I still believe--qualifications for CL and a good cup run will be reasonable achievements for this season...i know..this is Liverpool..and we should be talking about loftier ambitions...but we're in no position to compete when other clubs are splashing out money to buy players...and when guys like Phil Jone and Ashely Young prefer the red side of Manchester....

Adams? Dont expect him to do the things Silva or Modric does. He cant. He's a decent British player who can bring some good performances to the club but lets not expect him to do wonders....some of his crosses and passing DID create some openings....

Henderson? classic example of an overrated English youngster but he's available and we bought him..so lets give him time....

Downing? he can run and run..but again..he's not magician...just another typical English player...who can create some openings and score occasionally...

Perhaps with the exception of Suarez, we're not a team of superstars....We got no Aguero, no Rooney, no Ronaldo, no Silva, no Messi, no Mata...
We can only hope KD will gather the collective strengths of Kuyt, Downing, Henderson, Adams, Maxi and use them with the right combination at the right time to win matches...

I've been saying this again and again (sorry if it sounds like a broken record). From what i see so far, my main worry is Carrol....not clinical, not frightening the opposition, nothing.....and we need it badly...

What upsets me is
Spurs defense are not well known for being rock solid either

when expensive signings like Carrol, Henderson (and Adams and Downings) are not bombarding them, we're creating pressure for our own defense...

i can take a bad day at the office..

just hoping we didn't make any `no refund' mistakes such as letting Aquilani or Meireiles go..

We've gone very low after an extensive overhaul of bringing in new players and shipping out quite a handful...

these professionals should know how to buck up and fight back..
if not, we can forget about 4th place and rumors of a new manager will start surfacing...

QUOTE(hfi @ Sep 19 2011, 02:21 PM)
That thought of moving on Meireles to balance the book did cross my mind as well. At that time, i too felt the outcome was for the best of both the club and the player but that's mostly assumption on our part as according to Comolli we were powerless to stop him from moving away. I'm sure the likes of him and Aqualani would prefer to play else where but it's not something we should be readily accept. I wonder if the club feels the same way right now, now that Gerrard is still a couple weeks away from match fitness and Adam is out due to suspension. Last thing we need is to rush GErrard back and risk aggravating his injuries. Perhaps, at that time it was financially benefitial for us but you do wonder if it was at the best interest of the team especially when the team could do with players like Aqualani and Meireles either on the bench or the starting sheet.
*
i won't comment on Aquilani...still an enigma but admit tingly, i actually wanted him to stay...but then again, its hard to expect him to stay when he was away for a whole season..

but Raul is a different story...i am not sure the real reasons but i think the moment the management told him Raul's place in first 11 is already `allocated' to Stevie G, its a clear cut case...and with Chelsea and fellow countryman AVB and possibly higher pay comes calling in.....its easy to see why Meireiles left...ITs a bit unrealistic to believe that all the new boys could click together instantly and once we have Gerard in, we'll be reaching for the stars....here we have a midfielder who scored good amount of goals...and changed the Arsenal game..and we just told him its okay to leave...

Overall i think the management placed a lot of faith on Henderson, Adams and Downing and expected them to shine and compete well....
The frightening thing is at times, they looked pretty normal....I am not saying they're equivalent to the likes of Paul Stewart or Julian Dickson..but there were periods during this season where they just looked like mid-table players....the thing now is how to click them together and turn them into a formidable part of first 11......

and yes, to me, Carroll is currently one of our Achilles heel...okay, i know we can't blame the boy....he's young, not 100% fit (BTW, how long does it takes for a full time professional foot baler to become fit?) and its unfair to blame the spanking by the Spuds on his shoulders alone...
But to me, until and unless he plays and threatens the oppositions like CL-quality striker...we're in trouble....serious trouble....
Who will bring the goals? Suarez again? doh.gif

it was risky, taking out Suarez and letting AC stayed on..

but i think KD wanted AC to help reduce the danger of Wolves aerial balls...saw a few clearance by our no 9 in defense..//

but yep, the pressure is on AC now.....its been too many games and the progress is kind of slow...

but lets hope the boys will take control and create more chances...

good win in terms of points but not in terms of performances....still loads of questions to be asked....downing, adam, caroll, not really impressive...
back to drawing board and more training and adjustments i guess...

light observation

anyone saw the t-shirt on one of the blue fans?
one evertonian is worth twenty liverpudlians..hahahah!!! (mocking our much more expensive squad) biggrin.gif

was Carrol discussing about which pub to hit tonight with Cahill when they were exchanging kits ? tongue.gif

Bellamy was running all over the place....not sure if tactically pleasing but nice to see such passion for the club...

True and i think that is mostly down to the fact that we lack a true playmaker in our team. In this occasion we could really use a player like Aqualani.

a dream would have been exchanging Aqua with Pirlo from Milan...now that's a classy playmaker... tongue.gif
if not mistaken, Pirlo is strutting his stuff again with juve...

WTF winning also feel disappointed some ppl need to ask himself if he can do better if he is in Kenny's position. These kind of fans deserve Roy Hodson as their favorite team's coach so they can forever complain.
I am not even a Liverpool fan but i feel happy for them winning and feel grateful for what Kenny has done so far.

You know Kenny could have just left Liverpool to dust, he don't have to prove a thing, he's already a legend. He did all this because he love Liverpool so much that he rather risk losing his legendary status if Liverpool fail under him than seeing Liverpool sink into bottom. If you're a real Liverpool fan then shut up and show utmost support to him and the players (Hi Andy Caroll)
*
real liverpool fan should `shut up'? really?

...we don't want this thread to be filled with no-brainer one liners such as `Kenny Rules, I love Kenny, we're going to win the league' either...

bro, there's a difference between ridiculing Kenny and questioning a poor performance. Yes, they will always be a set of fans that will find fault anywhere and will criticize anyone on the helm....but there will also be a set on fans that observe the performances of our players and can spot a poor display and post their views on this forum without being nasty. chill and let everyone have their say....
I don't think those who wanted to see a better display and posted their frustrations here are questioning Kenny's commitment and sacrifice for the club. Its a 2 separate issue altogether...

Even if one day the team doesn't do well and if we all come to a point realizing perhaps Liverpool need a different manager, it doesn't mean Kenny will lose his legendary status in our hearts...never..

Nando why do you have that avatar ? It's hilarious but i'm just curious.
*
long story...
it was after KD's first match last season.....you know what happened...the whole ManU thread was basically laughing at us..and KD....
one bloke there even posted ...when we lost under roy, its roy's fault...but when we lost under KD..it was everyone's fault except KD..

but i always know KD would rescue us.....and true enough we hit a purple patch ..and the respect returned.....that same bloke even posted in the ManU thread `I think KD is a good manager'...

bottom line is i posted the pic to remind myself that no matter what people say about KD...he's a legend.....Like i said...even if things don't work out well at end of this season and KD has to be replaced, i will always remember how he took the risk to come back and restored the pride in us........

but the other main reason is to subtly tell everyone how a particular group of fans of a particular club usually behave...specially those that think English football started during the EPL era...hehehehehe
