Under new ownership , it is not odd for them to save on the wages after so much investment been made to the squad. Many of us didn't aware part of our investment resources come from players wages(poulsen+jova+joe cole). If Aquilani and Meireles still here , it do benefits us in term of squad depth but no point keeping players that unhappy.I been looking at Aquilani videos on pre-season tour and pictures , he seems doesnt have much friends here and doesn't always smile like other players in training ground.
It's not odd im sure but it may start to look like a questionable decision if we start losing more points. As it is now, we may have to depend on Spearing and Lucas yet again to keep the midfield in order so all that changes we made over the summer may have come to nothing. Aqualani may be unhappy or whatever, but have we forgotten how unhappy Masc was during his last couple seasons with us ? He too had problems settling down but we put our foot down and told him to stfu and get one with it. Torres wasn't happy but he kept playing and scoring until we decided to sell him off in January.

i won't comment on Aquilani...still an enigma but admit tingly, i actually wanted him to stay...but then again, its hard to expect him to stay when he was away for a whole season..
but Raul is a different story...i am not sure the real reasons but i think the moment the management told him Raul's place in first 11 is already `allocated' to Stevie G, its a clear cut case...and with Chelsea and fellow countryman AVB and possibly higher pay comes calling in.....its easy to see why Meireiles left...ITs a bit unrealistic to believe that all the new boys could click together instantly and once we have Gerard in, we'll be reaching for the stars....here we have a midfielder who scored good amount of goals...and changed the Arsenal game..and we just told him its okay to leave...
Overall i think the management placed a lot of faith on Henderson, Adams and Downing and expected them to shine and compete well....
The frightening thing is at times, they looked pretty normal....I am not saying they're equivalent to the likes of Paul Stewart or Julian Dickson..but there were periods during this season where they just looked like mid-table players....the thing now is how to click them together and turn them into a formidable part of first 11......
and yes, to me, Carroll is currently one of our Achilles heel...okay, i know we can't blame the boy....he's young, not 100% fit (BTW, how long does it takes for a full time professional foot baler to become fit?) and its unfair to blame the spanking by the Spuds on his shoulders alone...
But to me, until and unless he plays and threatens the oppositions like CL-quality striker...we're in trouble....serious trouble....
Who will bring the goals? Suarez again?

See that's the problem right there. I'm not sure if Kenny shares the same view as Comolli but what is the point of telling players whether or not they have a starting place in the team. This was exactly what Hogdson did by announcing the A and B team. It's counterproductive because it alienates the players as they are being made aware that they are being graded despite their talents and merits of their performance. I know Kenny has said that everyone would be given a chance but it's puzzlign as to why Comolli would say the total opposite. Unless of course the aim was to upset the player and force them to put in transfer request.
I have faith in the new players and i think given time they can work out. But lately there are some alarming displays by them. Adam looks fantastic whenever we're up against team letting us play our game but not against teams that attack us and pressing us aggresively. He needs to work on his atheletism and not linger on the ball too much. He struggled against Stoke and completely annihilated by Spurs midfield. Henderson, i can see some qualities in him but is he an upgrade to Kuyt ? Maybe in couple years time but i felt either Kuyt or Maxi should be give n the chance to play yesterday. Carroll looks a bit one dimensional lately, and i think the team knows this which is why we have gone out to buy the lieks of Downing, Enrique and Adam. But as Spurs showed and to certain extent Stoke as well, teams need only to press us to high up sever the link between the midfield and the striker.
