QUOTE(azrb.com @ Aug 12 2014, 11:33 AM) Hi guys, I'm a construction project engineer looking to work in northern OZ, should I apply for a PR or 457 visa? btw I am local graduate from msia now working in SG. Is it necessary to get assessment from VETASSESS? 457 is a temporary resident visa which need to be sponsored by business. If you are looking for PR, you should go for 189 or 190. By the way, construction project engineer should be fall on civil/structural engineer and civil/structural engineer has to be assessed by Engineers Australia. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yo mates, just obtained my visa (subclass 489) which sponsored by Tasmania on last week. Planning to move over next year after CNY. I will migrate together with my wife and 2 kids. The reserve fund that we are having now will enough for us to make the living for 1 year without income.
Understand that many peoples saying that it's not a good time to migrate to Australia at the moment but same goes to any other countries in the world now. Since the day my wife and I made the decision to migrate to Australia, we never ever back up even though many says that the economics downturn in Australia, bla bla bla. The point is we plan to move there for the sake of our future. Work life balance & education for kids, these are the major reasons of the migration plan.
Always ready for the worst situation and have the best preparation.
