No such thing lah.

When you say passed I'm guessing just making the required 6 or 7 mark.

I did my IELTS in one go. Got 8 overall, even with my screwup in the reading part (scored 7)

No big issue. Plus I don't even want to imagine the look on my dad's face if I had to tell him I failed. Sure kena halau. It's like telling him I didn't get A1 for SPM English. Don't even need to go home lah  tongue.gif

Haha...do you wanna listen my side of story?

When i 1st landed perth and found a job in 2 weeks. A Chinese company from China. That time the company actually bringing in 6 skilled chinese labourer and applying for visa 457.
Now, this get tricky. The application requires all of them sit in IELTS exam and minimal band 5.5 to all module as based on VETASESS at that time. Funny thing is all of them get the visa in 3 mths. When they reached to my office, NONE of them.....yes, none of them speak basic english! So, i spoke to one of them how they manage to get it?!? The answer is, i dunno ar...we pay and we get all arranged for us. We're not even in exam hall!!!
WHOA?!? Ever heard about exam representative? I heard them revealed a little that they paid RMB20,000 to IELTS to get all kao tim.

That's why IELTS is a scamming machine to generate income. If you catch an Ozzie guy on the street, get him sit for band 7 to all module. How do you expect a none english speaking background to strike 7 or 8?

Another one will burn your butt too. One of my boss actually got Malaysia passport somemore. He no malaysian, a chinese guy dunno a shit about malaysia. Reason is for him to apply PR easier if he got Malaysia passport. He paid RM20,000 to a person and whoalah, the passport will sent to you.

A few options,

i) Try to get 15 points for IELTS which means band 8 across all 4 sections
ii) Do a year of professional year which gives you +5 points
iii) Try for state sponsorship which gives you additional 5 points (This only applies if you have a job)

If all of the above does not work for you, what you probably can do is apply for Temp Grad visa 485 first then apply for PR when you hit 25.

double check your info. Tony's already changed it in last yr budget. All TR, 457, work holiday visa, student will have to pay tax from their very first dollar earned. they do not have 18k tax exempted wage.

It will start from July 2016, so you can either apply your PR before it is started or .....good luck.

Hi guys,

In order to gain another 5 points for Australian PR, just wondering what are the "proof of documents/ any other evidences" that are usually required to prove that I have worked for 3 years overseas in Malaysia?
*
U need to get a testimonial letter from ur previous employer with the letter heads and company stamp.
Attached together with ur previous EA form & employment letter.

Thanks for the info. I should be able to obtain a testimonial letter from my previous employer.

How about the documents to support my current job status?  This is because the 3 years I total up include the current job that I have been working for more than a year.

Cheers

Attach those as well, just throw watever $hit to them. They'll assess it cool2.gif

A year before I graduated in Dec 2012, I had interned in a construction company for 3 months in a full-time job that is related to the major that I had graduated from.

Thus, does an internship stint count as a working experience? Pls advice
*
Internship and full time position is totally different responsibilities, doesn't count.
Do u expect a company to give u full company duty to a fresh graduate student or trainee? For me i'm not.

I agree, no doubt $100 can buy whole lots compare to RM100

but how about $100 compare to RM300? I mean I am pretty sure if my company sends me to KL and they will pay me aussie package (maybe even more as I don't think others are interested to relocate), will you take it? I will seriously consider it. Again, my only worry is my kid. If I don't have kids, my wife and me will go back without any thoughts. How about others? I am asking who are already settled in australia but not imagine Australia life style.
*
If that package exist, i don't mind to take it. I got my kids too. If you're being given expatriate package, it's another story. The place once in live in Malaysia was full of expatriate. Neighbours are mainly europeans.
Few reasons:-

1) parents back home
2) the pay could sustain in par to Oz lifestyle
3) $$

I went back last summer, KL groceries just gone crazy! I hardly buy a simple T-shirt @ RM15! The quality is totally unacceptable. Walked thru pasar malam one round already RM50 gone.....just food and bought nothing.
If you get paid in Oz package, i think lifestyle in KL shd be great smile.gif

If its an expat package, u'll probably be able to live v well. But these are not easy to find anymore. For kids, there obviously be some disruption to their education. But put them in boarding house maybe? Good learning experience for them. Also for kids who have been raised in Oz since they are young, it may be hard for them to adjust.

Something need to consider! My kids can't speak a single malay word...

Understood. For me, my objectives as stated are clear ie. improve my income while maintaining or improving my quality of life. If sacrifices are to either my income or quality of life then I'm not willing to make that trade off.
*
Well, migration is not for everyone.
If you're a boss, owning big company and earning big bucks. No point for you to come here.
My friend who owns company back home all thinking of migrate here. I analyse for them and advise them not to come or they'll regret. *UNLESS* they really thinking of retire and got cash to burn.
They're not young either...ard 50+

Young professions still hv opportunities here but just depends on individual. I'm glad i'm still in my job profession under building company not doing 'odd' job. smile.gif

Hey guys, I have a question about overseas working experience points required for Aussie skilled migration.

My situation:

a) I studied quantity surveying, and I had been working as a full time Trainee QS and QS (The exact name of my positions) for one year after I graduated.
b) After that, I have been working as a Contracts Executive (the name of my current position) for more than 2 years now.

My question:
Thus, am I able to claim full 3 years of overseas working experience in quantity surveying?    ......This is because I am afraid that because of the name of my current job position -"Contracts Executive" which does not SOUND related to quantity surveying, even though in Malaysia it is quite common to use Contracts Executive position name in place of QS.

Thanks and hope to hear from you guys. icon_question.gif
*
I'm a quantity surveyor back home.
Trainee experience doesn't count. Starts at employment status. I claimed 15points for more than 8 years exp.
It doesn't matter what's the job title is, as long it's related to your scope of work and relevant to the title, you'll get a letter from AIQS stated your experience is eligible or positive.

Please note:

Overseas (Malaysia) - 3 years = 5p; 5 years = 10p; 8 years - 15p
Local (Aus) - 1 year = 5p; 3 years = 10pt; 5 years = 15p

Well, actually, that "Trainee QS" job title was actually a full-time graduate position. It's just that the company has decided to use the job title for those fresh graduates.
*
Why?

Fresh grade will be given title either assistance or junior. Make sure you get your ex-employer to change the title in the testimonial letter

I'm thinking of migrating to Australia, and keen to do so, but worry about the application and the economy there.

In terms of the EOI selection, how come i hear Aussie based Agents and Malaysian based Agents say different thing ? Aussie say you must get more than 60 points, the higher the better, to get selected. But Malaysia say not necessarily, get 60 points, and you have chance to get selected as well. Is it that Malaysian trying to earn the agent fee so try to raise your confidence in applying, or Aussie just exaggerate things?

I'm hoping to apply Visa 189 /190 , but still surveying agents. can anyone intro me reliable Agent (instead of the R*y**** agent. I nearly decided to engage them, but thanks to you guys in here i threw that out of the window now).
*
Assume your profession is highly demand here and meet up all the requirements
Look for these options:-

1) DIY
you'll save heaps of cash like 50%? You'll need to make some phone calls, emailing and sort your documents. I would say the whole process you'll like time spending 80%. If you got time would be the best.
advise is, please!!!!!!!!!!!! read their DIAC website thoroughly! every info and every word and understand it! don't be lazy

2) Agents
you'll paying $30k in total? Agents are for those who dunno a shit of english. buta2 dunno how to apply at all. anyway, i applied thru agent too... biggrin.gif Totally tied up with work! No time, worked like cow back in KL for 10hours everyday....YES! EVERY SINGLE DAY!

engaging R*****d. they're sucks. even i got mine thru them but their service is ganasai. my case is easy and straightforward. i did my homework and screw them few times so end up getting my PR less than 6 mths.
they'll squeeze you at the end for some more cash. oh, they know you got money and they'll squeeze your ba.....er...imean your neck for more. However, i paid $20k for the whole process....everything.

189 gives you better remote to work any part of australia including the cave also....haha....no cave here, sorry. if you wanna live in metros like Syd or Melb, this is what you need but your points nd to at least 60p.

if you're short, nvm, pay $$ for state sponsorship and get extra 5p but might be living in the city you like say....sangkala place like Darwin or Perth? Drinking beer with kangaroo or koala.

DO NOT ENGAGE overseas agent! you'll not able to meet them face to face and your $$ will drain down the shithole. I knew someone back there with good repu but dunno how's it now coz it might be different now or else you'll curse and screw me kaw2.

Anyway, good luck! thumbup.gif

Thanks! This year i'm just 25, and worked for 2 years in engineering field (I'm a Mech Eng Graduate). My marks haven't accumulate 60 yet until i finish my 3rd year of work. Thus i am thinking of state sponsorship, Victoria to be specific, as i've read applying for state sponsorship is free.

But how is the chances of getting state sponsorship? If get sponsored, can bypass EOI stage and reach PR status (Upon payment of course biggrin.gif).

I also found few agents, the agent fees (agent fee only) around AUD$3000-4000 (They all use AUD to earn from currency exchange probably). So keep do survey if not paying a fortune, yet later not guarantee entry, or need wait few years. @.@ that i wouldn't want.
*
Depends on your profession. if it's in their list, fulfill the english requirement, i can't see any reason why they can't give you. That's for sponsorship of course.
If your exp., not enough, i suggest u have to stay where you are for another 1-2 years. it doesn't make any harm on waiting.

Of course they're charging AUD. RM is so weak now. Good for us to travel of course but inflation overkill! Do you know malaysia groceries value is same par for what we're paying here in Oz (except dairies product)? dollar to dollar, malaysia is getting much expensive to live if you earn there.

My indonesian chinese friends who super rich living here predicting malaysia would become indon number 2. You'll see malaysian becoming maid very soon

Understand the rules and requirements in the website. Understand how the scoring system work. The EOI process once you started it right, it ll guide you step by step on each requirement to see if you fulfill them, then at the end it will sum up your score to let you know if you are eligible.

Pm me if you want more information on what documents are required.
*
I think many Malaysian are spoonfed. Lazy of reading thru and understand.....pay $$ to ask agent to do the job. Looks like i'm criticising myself...haha. sweat.gif
As i said before, i was so busy with my work that's why i engaged agent to do the work but i did my homework. Read thru website 3 times
