Menarik gak 2 hari Cobra 10's ari tuh. Tapi dua game Oriental Rongotai yang aku tengok, dedua Nonu x main. Disappointed gak. Tapi fun tournament laa. Loads of good rugby.

Menyesal tlepas chance nak beli t-shirt Cobra. Cousin aku beli, kaler itam logo kat tengah, smart jugak. RM25. Tp time aku pegi merchandise counter dh tutup.

I wonder why we bother calling it a local team when half of the players playing are Fijians, this is like EPF or NHL already. In NHL,teams like Dallas All Star, there's only like 1 guy who's from Dallas, others are from Sweden,Russia etc.

This is not how we bring up the standard of rugby in Malaysia. I'm currently playing for VI Old Boys and KL RU.

I wonder why the heck ASAS got into the idea of having 2 Fijians on their team? Fiji studied in Alam Shah? Crap.
Yon (MRU) should have a standing rule preventing imports to play in the Piala Agong or any local league like Selangor League.

ACTUALLY THERE R RULES.. IF I AM NOT MISTAKEN 2 IMPORTS ARE ALLOWED.. AND THE REGISTRATION TO BE DONE ACCORDINGLY TO KRM..BUT WHETHER THOSE OBLIGATIONS ARE DONE OR NOT ..NOT SURE.. SO ASAS.. U FULFILL THEM? IF NOT SURE THERE GONNA BE A LOT OF OBJECTIONS IN NEXT YEAR KRS LEAGUE..

THE MAIN PURPOSE OF GETTING IMPORTS ARE TO 'TRANSFER KNOW HOW', INTIMIDATE, NOT ENOUGH LOCAL TO PLAY RUGBY ANYMORE, A LOT OF MONEY (I GUESS),ETC. FOR ME IT'S OK .. BUT PLEASE DO NOT RELY 100% ON THEM..

100% LOCAL TEAM CAN PROVE THOSE GUYS AND TEAMS WITH IMPORTS ARE NOT SO GREAT NOT ONLY TO BEAT THEM BUT BY SHOWING A GOOD SPORT WHILE PLAYING.. WIN OR LOOSE IS LUCK.. . DO NOT GET INTIMIDATED BY THEM. TRAIN HARD AND YOU'LL GET THE CHANCE TO SUCCEED..SO COMMON LOCALS THEY ARE MANY TEAMS TO CHOOSE FROM IN SELANGOR OR JOHOR..WE NEED YOU!!!

from my point of view..the presence of Fijians in our Malaysian rugby scene is a great approach..really i do...
Fijians are not that cocky if compared to some of our malaysians..
they actually teach n tell us what to do and what not to do in a certain game situation..
if we played against them,it train us not to be afraid to tackle such a big fella in front of us...
so the foreigner is the one who helps the rugby standard gone up higher than before...
but not if the malaysians still depends on the fijians only...
i really enjoy training myself with the fijians...
even my friends from NS Wanderers and also Cobra tell me the same thing...
yes their presence do left us out from the First Team selection..but what we have to do to gain our place in the team?
TRAIN HARDER,PLAY SMART..thats all i guess.. smile.gif
anyone agrees?
BTW..Yon is the only the secretrary of MRU and also the president of the SRU...
he's not the president though he have the power to brought up the matters like this...
if im not mistaken...the rules in KRS League only allow 2 Fijians on field..
and Agong cup if im not mistaken only one can be played in side the team..
but the team are allowed to register as much fijians as you can..
its better the fijians in the malaysia national team rather than the Army..
the main reason why we lost to Singapore and China in the IRB 3 series... sad.gif

I have nothing against import players, it's called the Pelican strategy, but I fear that we will end up like Singapore. They have hardly any local talent, most of the players are angmoh with PRs. We should strive to produce local talents.

I know these teams really want to win,who doesn't. In the last Jonah Jones, despite having Fijians, both ASAS,Cobra and NS got whip by the Hong Kong Dragons. It was either the Hongkies were a better team or they had more 'imported' players.

There are no major tournaments currently player.
But there is a league called the Liga Alumni, organized by ANSARA (Ex-MRSM Alumni). The league started before in October and continuing this month after Ramadan.

Last week's match:

MCOBA 3 - SMSOBA 30

This weekend's game on Saturday

STJOBA vs SMSOBA

As for the jerseys, Shahiran who was with Salbros and carries Carisbrook is now with Kooga. Salbros office is at Jalan Genting Klang, across the driving range, where as Kooga's office is at Brunsfield business park,in front of Cochrane High School.
